Rental Market UP or Down? Apartment Industry News, - 02/11/09 05:20 PM
I got my daily email Multi Housing News today; headlines read: Apartment Values to Fall a Cumulative 32% from Year-End 2007 to 2010, PPR Forecasts. I'm not sure about Boston where the article quotes Portfolio and Property Research's (PPR) latest forecast figures. Stating that the job losses are causing mass vacancies in apartment communities. Perhaps it is in Boston, or perhaps in the higher end apartments but I have seen a huge increase in renters looking for affordable apartments. with some of the apartments in our management portfolio renting for under $500 a month, I'm filling them up quicker than ever. Flanked by such prolific bloggers, friends and competitors as Chris Lengquist and (16 comments)

The ever changing world of real estate has brought yet another change to the Kansas City commercial real estate market. One of my former employers Don Maddux of CRES Prudential Kansas City has negotiated a merger with the daunting commercial real estate behemoth Block and Co. forming the largest commercial real estate firm in the Kansas City market. Back in the day when I worked with Don at Commercial Realty Resources they had not yet joined the Prudential franchise. The story broke Thursday in the Kansas City Business Journal, but I had heard it from the horses mouth. Last week I (0 comments)
