time management: Managing Your Time Effectively Does Not Mean You Are Lazy. - 07/05/12 09:28 PM
Hi folks. I read an article recently where an agent was calling other agents lazy because they didn’t work with rentals. Supposedly we should do anything to make a buck whether we enjoy it or not.

The agent went on to talk about how us lazy agents were missing the opportunity for future business and referrals from this renter.

Well ok then.

I can honestly say that I have my business down to a finely tuned machine. I work everyday but I'm not overly busy. I do however close a fair amount of transactions, manage my 12 websites … (15 comments)

time management: How Much Time Do You Spend On A Short Sale File? - 12/14/11 11:13 PM
Hi folks. One of the biggest myths with Short sales is that it takes a lot of time to work them. I have been asked numerous times why I don't outsource my files and use a 3rd party negotiator instead of handling the process myself.
Well it's simple........I enjoy working short sales!! I like doing paperwork and I love negotiating with the lenders. Short sales fit my skill set perfectly.
Time wise I spend about 30 minutes per week per file unless I have something out of the ordinary going on. I can handle about 35 files without too much of … (10 comments)

time management: If Folks Don't Value Your Time They Certainly Won't Value Your Relationship! - 08/21/11 02:43 AM
Time. Mine is valuable. Is yours? One thing that agents struggle with is being in control of their time. How often have you popped out to show property at the last minute? Or had to cancel a personal event because one of your customer/clients needed to see you? What about the Buyer who can only look at properties every other Saturday from 4-7 pm? Do you work with them? I don't.
Here's a fact. There are NO real estate emergencies.
Here's another fact. You will NEVER be caught up. There will always be another call to make. Another website to update.

time management: Relax! Don't do it!! - 03/04/11 11:44 PM

Is your life is too hectic? Are you dreaming about your business and all the things you have to do?
Maybe, just maybe, you are making yourself too available. You stop what you are doing and answer the phone every time it rings. You rush out and meet potential sellers and buyers as soon as they call.
You stress over transaction issues instead of just solving the problem and moving on. Even worse, you stress over negotiations when it's not even your problem!
You need to make a schedule and stick to it. ALWAYS take at least one day … (122 comments)

time management: Increase Your Business And Income By Working Less. - 04/03/10 07:52 AM
Christine Schneider wrote an article titled "When All is Said and Done".  If you haven't already take a few minutes and pop over and read it. It's basically about time management and how we can become overwhelmed if we don't take some down time for ourselves.
I couldn't agree more with what Christine is saying. I have always been excellent at managing my time and setting boundaries. Here are my thoughts on the topic and an outline of what works for me.
First I want to give you some facts:
In our business we will NEVER be caught up. There … (58 comments)

time management: If you can't do the time......... - 12/30/08 08:47 AM
Hi folks. What better time, than the end of another year, to discuss.........
Time management. This is a very important part of being a successful REALTOR(r). Or, in being successful at anything, for that matter. We all have 24 hours a day. That's it, 24 hours. 24 hours to do business, spend time with our families, exercise, relax, eat and sleep. Now for me, I like to spend most of this time on the last two, eating and sleeping. Well, not really, even though I do love to eat and I cherish my down time, whether it's spent relaxing, reading, blogging … (66 comments)

time management: 10 minutes in the life of a Realtor - 07/23/06 01:01 PM
Driving down the road in my SUV talking on my RAZOR while sending an IM on my TRIO to J.R. about getting my PC networked to my TABLET. I think that will be a more efficient way to MOBLOG to my WEBLOG to increase my SEO with GOOGLE. My wife just TEXTED to get my ETA so I check my GPS to find out my location. Accidentally I spill my JOE on my DOCKERS but thankfully missed my MLS printouts and CMA. I pull over and get out of the SUV and TEXT my wife back to let her know my … (5 comments)
