Tampa Bay-Tax Credit Info-House Prices Drop 11% from December to January - 02/27/10 03:08 PM
The Tampa Bay area experienced an 11% price decrease in January from the month of December according to FAR. Although, it was a 3% increase in prices from January 2009. This is attributed to lenders unloading financially distressed properties to clear their books at the end of the year. Financially distressed properties typically sell for lower prices.
The increase in calls and showings in the month of February is being attributed to the approaching deadline for the tax credit. For information on the tax credit and how it could help you; watch the video.

Crews Lake Park in Hudson is the site of the Central Pasco & Gulf Railroad where last week they held a meet. This included steam trains from all over. Hooter's Restaurant-Port Richey-  Recently we attended a West Pasco Chamber of Commerce Ambassador Lunch at Hooter's Restaurant. It was a bright, sunny day and the view was just beautiful as you can see. There was a Red Hat luncheon going on too; these ladies are from the New Port Richey Happy Hacienda Hatters club. And, by happy chance, one of their guests is a family member of ours, Mildred King. Trinity-Pappas Ranch Restaurant has Grand Opening and West Pasco Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting on same evening. - 02/24/10 02:29 PM
Trinity-Odessa- FL - Pappas Ranch on SR 54 east of Starkey Rd in Trinity-Odessa area, held it's Grand Opening on Feb 11. The West Pasco Chamber of Commerce held their Ribbon Cutting Event on the same evening.
The Pappas family invited many of their their friends and customers and Chamber members; the food was fabulous and it was free to everyone on the guest list. They also had free wine and beer. Port Richey, Florida. There are always Wood Storks on this tree in the middle of a pond behind a shopping center in Port Richey. Sometimes there are many more than now but that's in the summer when the tree is covered with leaves so you can't see them as easily. I think they look like giant flowers.

Black-hooded Parakeets make their home in the trees at Sunset Beach in Tarpon Springs. These really pretty and noisy guys and gals are all over the trees there. They flit back and forth and hold meetings, chit-chat (a lot), and just stare at you when you want to take their picture. There are about 7-8 in the tree, can you find them? These guys natives of South America but seem to like our area too. Did you know that a group of parakeets is called a "chatter", wonder why?

We recently met Ila at the Pasco Arts Fest. She was part of the Progress Energy Gallery and their presentation of local art and artists. Ila is a former art teacher: and now that she's "retired", she devotes her time to creating the most wonderful wearable art. Her card says she does paintings, hand weaving, and hanging wearables.  Her boas are so pretty and frothy that you just want to keep touching them. She makes sweater, capes, purses and, of course, boas and scarves. Ila is extremely talented and very sweet!
