Mom and Baby Indian Flying Fox Bats at Animal Kingdom-Orlando The Indian Flying Fox Bat has a wing span of up to 4 feet. Despite their large size, they only eat fruit. The largest of all bats, it is called the Flying Fox because the  head is shaped like a fox’s head, and it has reddish-brown fur. Santa’s stylish red suit, his red cherry cheeks, those gorgeous red poinsettias. Second is Green: Christmas trees, garland, baskets of greens. But there’s another color that affects a lot of people at the Holidays--Blue. There are some homes with large acreage just a couple of miles from where we live. I noticed these guys a few weeks back and finally got to take some pictures. The one on the bottom right was very agitated because I came close to take pictures. The other two came running over to see if I had food, I think.Emus come from Australia and are the second largest bird behind the ostrich. Snow in Celebration-Florida The town of Celebration-Florida near Walt Disney World, has a lovely old-fashioned downtown square. Each year, amazingly, it snows at this exact time of the year (every night!)   It happened to be about 53° that evening with lots of wind off the lake so it was easy to pretend this was real snow and the children had so much fun. My favorite Orchid is blooming-Does that make her a Christmas Orchid I’m sharing her with you because she is just lovely. She’s not red or green but how can you not love those soft peaches, lilacs and yellows? Orchids bloom all year in Florida. And, Craig grows them all outside (we have about 30); we only take them in when it hits freezing here which does happen once or twice a winter, usually in January or February.
