Beckett Bridge in Tarpon Springs-Florida is one of several drawbridges in Pinellas County; but Beckett is unique in that it does not have a full-time bridge tender on duty. Tall boats have to provide notice to Pinellas County 2 hours prior to requesting a bridge opening!Stretching over Whitcomb and Minetta Bayous, Beckett Bridge was originally constructed in 1924 and re-constructed as it is today in 1956. It is a concrete, low-level drawbridge. And, it features a single-leaf span rather than the double-leaf spans found in all the other Pinellas County drawbridges.
