The forecast is for sunny days this whole weekend; however, there will be afternoon storms starting about 4pm as usual. Storms are moving from east to the west coast so ours won’t be until 5 or 6 pm. Storms don't last long and this is a normal summer weather pattern for our coast.
And, it is still summer here. And will be for another month or so.

What is this weird landscape we came across in Phillippe Park in Safety Harbor. It’s the Childrens Playground Rock Climbing Park. I’ve written about the beauty of Philippe Park previously; the wonderful views of the bay, the beautiful trees, but did I tell you that Philippe the oldest park in Pinellas County.
And, it’s named after Count Odet Philippe, who is buried somewhere on park property (which used to be his home); but no-one knows where so don’t go digging the whole place up. He purchased 160 acres in what … (24 comments)

Water For Wildlife at Philippe Park in Safety Harbor -Curious I was wondering why this water fountain was so short; first I thought it was for dogs but when I got to the other side there was a sign that it was water for wildlife. Which then left me wondering how the wildlife knew to press the pedal. I'm always wondering how or why things are as they are. It makes life more fun.

Obviously these folks who were taking off at Phillipe Park in Safety Harbor yesterday were planning a great weekend on the water. Memorial Day always signals the start of summer to most folks.
I know they will also take the time to think about our service men and women who have given their lives to keep us safe.

Sleeping Sailboats in Safety Harbor, FL - Sssh, Don't Wake Them It’s Fall and the weather is perfect for sailing. Why are the sailboats all still here at the marina? Where are their owners? They must be busy going to pumpkin festivals, pumpkin patches and halloween events.

Splishing and Splashing at Phillipe Park in Safety Harbor Florida A couple of weeks back we were at Phillipe Park in Safety Harbor (a really great park to take the family - it even has an Indian Mound), and these guys were in the water waiting anxiously for a stick to be thrown their way.

Philippe Park in the picturesque town of Safety Harbor-Florida is one the prettiest parks on the Florida's West Coast. It sits on the side of, and overlooks Old Tampa Bay and has scenic walkways along the water with lots of benches for sitting, relaxing and enjoying the view. Great for a family picnic too. Philippe Park was acquired by the state in 1948 out of what was the plantation owned by Count Odet Philippe; who introduced cigar making and citrus culture to Florida. It was originally 162 acres.
