The yearly Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo will be starting March 3 and go through the 22nd at Reliant Park.  This is one of Houston's biggest events and there are a ton of things to do, and see.  There will be children's activities, dining, shopping and carnival rides, concerts and more entertainment than you can imagine.  Not to mention the actual rodeo!

"Great Chefs" of the Bay Area will be at the Hilton on Nasa Rd. 1 in Clear Lake March 5th.  "Great Chefs" are some of the best chefs in the Bay area serving a multi-course sit down dinner that evening to benefit the Clear Lake Symphony Scholarship Fund.  Reservations must be received by March 2.

 The Internal Revenue Service lowered the mileage rates from 2008 to 2009. 
The rated started January 1, 2009, it includes mileage rates for cars, vans, pickkups and panel trucks.
The new rates are as follows:

Air Duct Cleaning...Look At What It Did! - 02/21/09 11:44 PM
                                                                                        
When I went to de-stage this property, was I suprised when I walked into a "Dust Bowl".  I didn't know that the ducts were going to be cleaned after the staging.  As you can see the dust was quite thick, and was everywhere.  Yet, another lesson for stagers and homeowners when you get this service done.  This was obviously not done properly.  But now I will have to have linens and furnitiure cleaned as to not saturate through the materials.

Pet Adoptions at The Texas Home and Garden Show in Houston - 02/21/09 11:38 PM
                     
This was a dog that was paralyzed from the waist down.  He wasn't adopted and is still looking for a home.

                      
These two little pups were the last two that weren't adopted.  They had a long weekend!


These happy young ladies adopted two little puppies from The Texas Home and Garden Show in Houston.
A no profit/no kill shelter for animals is run by donations from private individuals and businesses.
Pet adopotions for Mr. K's Halfway House for Hounds & Kitties Too!

           Houston's own Paul Wishnow "The Antique Man"  was appearing appraising peoples treasures.
       
       
                                    
As you can see, there was quite a variety of thing to see and do at The Texas Home and Garden Show in Houston.  It was a lot of fun and a lot to take in.  There were 600 exhibits from outdoor living areas to indoor interior ideas and beyond.  Variety, is the best way to describe it, there was even teeth whitening being performed.  They really did have something for all ages.  I really liked seeing the TV items in … (2 comments)

Join a group of approximately 15 members at the Gazebo on the north side of Memorial, just west of Eldridge, from Terry Hershey Park to George Bush Park.
This ride will be 2 rides in 1.  The first is a short 24 miles and will head west from Eldridge.  24 miles will be on a paved path in the direction of Fry Rd. and back.

 I am passing this on because I can't imagine that too many people know this.  What a great thing. Somebody should let the companies know that it needs to be  advertised as a feature.  I had to go into the kitchen and check this out for myself. Whoever looks at the end of your aluminum foil  or plastic wrap box? You know when you try to pull some foil out and  the roll comes out of the box. Come take part of a community event to clear up Clear Creek, every Saturday and Sunday in  February  2009 from 8:00 AM to 2 PM.At the FM 270 Boat Ramp.  The FM 270 Boat Ramp is located under the Clear Creek Bridge on Hwy 270 between Nasa Parkway and Hwy 518.
Participants will gather trash along the shorelines and need to be prepared on how to dress for the day.

1st Annual CCISD Strike Out Cancer Softball Tournament - 02/14/09 01:07 AM
February 26-18 the first annual  Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD) Strike Out Cancer Softball Tournament at all high schools will be held.  Each campus will host high school teams from around the area.  The proceeds are to benefit 2 local softball families dealing with the effects of cancer.  Games will be played at noon, 2pm, 4pm and 6pm each day of the tournament.  There will be food, raffles and silent items auctioned off.
A portion of the money raised will also go to the Ronald McDonald House in Houston.

Mardi Gras Galveston, officially started today, February 13, and will run through February 24th.  Twelve days of fun and entertainment, beginning in 1867 it's in its 98th season.  Located at the Historic Strand District.  There will be numerous events and activities going on and the first big event since Hurricane Ike.
More than 250,000 people are expected to attend, so expect crowds.  Not all of the resturants are open yet.
