The gated community of South Shore Harbour will have its annual Garage Sale on October 16th from 8am until noon.  This is the largest of it's kind in the Bay Area.  Visitors must enter through the main guard gates located off of South Shore Blvd.  Visitors will not be allowed in prior to times set for sale.  Security will be stationed at certain streets to help direct traffic.

Have you ever thought about donating your car instead of practically giving it away to a car lot?  If you are moving and don't want to transport your car, you can donate it, get a tax write off and help a charity out.  We did this once, it was a nice Nissan worked perfectly, I just didn't want to haul it to to TX from NJ, plus I wanted a new one. ; )  So we decided to donate it to a Charity, and I felt really good about giving it to someone that could use it for … (3 comments)

 Chuy's Mexican Restaurant is finally open in the Clear Lake/Webster area.  The Austin based chain has opened it's 6th restaurant in the Houston area.  Chuy's is famous for their Tex-Mex fare including home-made tortillas (you can watch them make them), freshly made salsa, light crispy chips, sizzling chicken fajitas and their off the menu "Creamy Jalapeno Ranch Dip".   Chuy's are decorated in an all Mexican Eclectic look with an Elvis theme.  I always get the chicken fajitas, which are perfectly seasoned and the flour tortillas melt in your mouth.  I haven't tried too much other than that, but the portions are Texas … (6 comments)

A Home Stagers Dirty Little Tip - 09/18/10 11:58 PM
One of the easiest things to do to update your home bathrooms when selling?  Change that toilet seat!   Maybe not the most glamorous of odd jobs, but somebody's got to do it.  It takes all of 5 minutes if that to replace.  The toilet lid...yuk, it's dirt, old, broken, outdated, cracked and sliding off the bowl, but yet I see it all the time.
Home Sellers this little tip only costs you about $30 or less per toilet and gives it, yes a new look, and something a buyer will certainly appreciate.

2010 Quintana/Surfside Beach Clean-Up, TX - 09/18/10 10:35 PM
The 2010 Fall beach clean-up registration scheduled for Surside, Quintana will be September 25.  Volunteers will meet at 9am at Surfside's newly renovated Stahlman Park and at the country park at Quintana to register and pick up trash bags and record sheets.  Volunteers will return to the registration point by noon for a hot dog lunch.
Volunteers should be prepared for the ever changing weather and bring necessary clothing, insect repellent, water, hat, gloves, sturdy shoes.  The coordinators will provide materials for clean-up and lunch.
Volunteers ultimate help the cleaning of our Texas beaches and ecosystems and near-shore life.

Clear Lake Symphony 2010 Fall Season, TX - 09/12/10 05:48 PM
The Clear Lake Symphony will be starting their fall season with Mr. Robert Wall as conductor featuring light classical and jazz selections.  This year the Symphony will be playing at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Nassau Bay, TX (across from The Johnson Space Center-NASA).

2010 Bay Area Texas Baseball/Tee Ball-League City, TX - 09/11/10 11:53 PM
Registration for the Bay Area Texas Baseball and tee ball for players from ages 5 to 18.  The registration fee will include uniforms.  All play.  The games will take place at the Dad's Club park (off Highway 3 near Clear Lake City Blvd.) and mostly played on Sunday afternoons.  Fees are from $70 - $110.
