<p><strong>On a recent consultation, I came across something that was interesting. The owner had a small enclosed patio area, hmmm, it looks like it could have potential, and I noticed that it had a hot tub, and it was on. As I walked closer I noticed, there were live Koi swimming around in the Hot tub. Long story short, the hot tub wasn't working properly, and the hole was there in the patio and ground for it. His X-wife always wanted a koi pond, so he decided to give her what she wanted.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He was trying to sell the home. Taking the hot tub out would leave a huge hole, and cost more than he wanted to spend. So I suggested draining it and getting the heavy plastic liner and covering the entire tub including top ledge, and placing rocks, and plants around the top to look like a real koi pond that had always been there.</strong></p>
<p><strong>He loved the idea, but haven't heard if he followed through with it. If he does I will post the new photos.</strong></p>

<p><strong>A Bachelor bought this starter home as an investment. He painted the wall in the Family room to his liking. He decided he didn't want to live in the suburbs anymore, and wanted to move closer to downtown in some lofts. I had him replace the carpet, paint, change out light fixtures, and do a total staging package. His goal was to sell it in 30 days. He sold it in 3 weeks!</strong></p>

<p><strong>For the life of a stager, we are very familiar with "stagercising", it's the new form of exercising when staging a home to sell.</strong> </p>

<p><strong>It is a physically demanding job, requiring lifting, pushing, pulling, holding, and moving items and furniture of all sizes around, yo and from a storage unit, then to a truck, then out of the truck and carrying loads and loads of totes, and furniture into the property, usually up stairs. This alone if you're counting is about an 2 hours worth of aerobic exercise. Get the picture yet?</strong></p>
<p><strong>Do this several times a week, and you have no need to go to the gym. If you're lucky enough to live in the South, with the humidity level always at 100 percent or more you also get the use of a free sauna, (compliments of mother nature). And in the winter months, our friends to the North get to battle the snow and ice.</strong></p>

<p><strong>And if you're really lucky, all of your help (below) is gone or out-of-town and can't help you, so you get to do everything yourself. Can you move sofas, tables, dressers and Master beds? That's another 1 hour worth of aerobics.</strong></p>

<p>What's with all the wild animals running around in the suburbs lately. I saw a opossum tonight while coming home, raccoons crawling along the fence line, nutria rats on the golf course, and now they say rabid bats have been found in the area. I also hear Katy has alligators, and I'm sure we do too, I just haven't seen any. The bayous run all through this area, so I guess it's only natural. But why don't they just stay close to the bayous, and not come to the neighborhoods, I could never live in the boonies! I've lived in the suburbs for 14 years now, and until recently, I have never noticed as many wild varmints as we have now. I always heard Houston didn't really have snakes, because of our weather and soil. Houston...we have snakes, I was jogging the other day on the streets in our neighborhood, (now I'm not talking the wilderness here, I mean, manicured, fenced yards, golf course, swimming pool, gated, tennis and basketball court kind of community) where there is always activity of some sort. I'm running along, and happen to look down, and there was a dead, thank goodness, snake in the road. When I got home I called the most reliable snake source I knew of course, my 11 year old nephew "the Boy Scout".</p>

I said it didn't have a skinny head, it was like a flat diamond shape. Was it poisonous, I asked? He so matter of factly said, gotta see the color of the snake, can't just go by the head. What there's a possibility we have poisonous snakes lurking in the flower beds, where I'm always sticking my arm in to pull a straggling weed, not thinking twice? Are you sure? Yep, gotta go by the coloring. So I looked them up on line, and this is what I found. I didn't see a rattler, which could have been gone, so if it wasn't a rattlesnake I think it was a Diamondback Water Snake. These are common to Harris and Galveston County. They like to be in yards that have water sprinklers, so they always have a water source. </p>

<p>Houston's newest outlet malls located in Cypress, NW of Houston, is just more validation that <strong>Houston is growing that way,</strong> the Gulf prevents it from going East. I recently visited this mall, it is designer type stores, and pricier than the usual outlet mall. <strong>Appealing to the "Energy Corridor" crowd</strong>. They did have some nice stores, and I didn't leave empty handed, but it is outdoors, what were they thinking? It's similar to the one in <a href="http://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlets/outlet.asp?id=73" title="Round Rock Outlet" target="_blank">Round Rock Premium Outlet</a>, but I think a few more designer stores here. It is a haul out there, and I'm not sure why they call it "Houston Premium Outlets", it's in the boonies for now. I'll be over in Cypress tomorrow, I might have to swing by and give it a second look!</p>

<p>With the announcement of Starbucks Coffee Shops closing 600 stores nationwide today, Houston's java stops were not spared, actually only 10 will be closing as of the end of the year. Most are set to close by September 30th. There will be 57 stores in Texas that will close. I love Starbucks, but I think we'll survive!</p>

<p>Having had a Basel Cell spot taken off my shin years ago, I learned you're never to young or too old to get checked out. I used to live by a lake, and got burned (with blisters) every single weekend, and if that wasn't enough, as teens, and in college, we laid out with baby oil and iodine. I haven't been checked in several years, for fear of the outcome. I knew my doctor would tell me the I was covered, and it was malignant, or my nose would have to be cut off. So, I didn't go, no news is good news right, well not with skin cancer, I had a friend from Florida that didn't know she had it on her back, it was melanoma, and was the size of a grapefruit, internally, and her doctor said she was months away from it spreading and being a death sentence. </p>
<p>So I made the dreaded appointment, and of course, canceled it, and re-scheduled it. So, I went in today, for a thorough check-up and thank God, No Cancer...just sunspots, but I can live with those. Thank you Lord!</p>
<p>Please get checked out, because, a spot that you may not think looks like cancer, usually is! (from my experience)</p>
<p>And the office visit was all of 20 minutes, well worth the peace of mind!</p>

<p>They offer year-round activities like bicycle touring in Holland, rafting in the Grand Canyon, and scuba diving in Fiji, and on and on.</p>

<p>Grace Chruch in Houston will be erecting two 150 ft crosses to Mark our City.</p>
<p>The first one will stand at the South Campus location off of I-45 and Dixie Farm Rd. The second will stand at the North campus at I-45 and Spring Crossing.</p>
<p>Grace would like to see a cross in every entrance into our city, to give people hope, faith, and encouragement and a place to come and pray. The cross towers will house prayer rooms that will be open to the public 24/7.</p>
