When it turned Midnight the firworks started going off everywhere. I'm outside of Tulsa, and the sky is beautiful with stars and the first "Blue Moon" of the year. I don't get to see the stars or the moon living so close to the city lights of Houston. The ground is still covered with ice and snow, and it's in the teens, but a great way to start the New Year, with a roaring fireplace and family, some late night snacks and a great movie! This year the Galveston Historic tour of homes will be on the weekends of May 2nd and 3rd and May 9th and 10th from 10am until 6pm. There will be 10 homes dating from 1816 to 1904 on the tour, most of the homes have damage of some sort for various reasons. some are survivors of the Great Storm of 1900, others of Hurricane Ike.
