April is National Child Abuse Prevention month. Family Outreach, a non-profit agency will be hosting a 10k & 5K run/Walk, and Kids 1K. Clear Lake City will be the site for the scenic streets on Sunday April 25th. The walk will start at and finish at University Plaza 2427 Bay Area Blvd., (intersection of Bay Area & Space Center). League City will be hosting it's 2nd annual Walk for Wellness on April 18, 2009 at 9am starting at League Park (1 1/2 miles east of I-45 on FM 518) in League City, TX. You can pre-register for $5 for those under 12 years, and over 55, $10 for youth and adults. This fee includes a t-shirt. There will be a late fee after April 7th. The 20,000 spots have been filled and the Chevron Houston Marathon is not accepting any more runners. They are still accepting volunteers - a total of 5000 are needed with 200,000 spectators to be expected.
