firsttime buyers: Uptown MN Getting Greener! - 11/06/07 01:42 PM
With the opening of the new store “Twin Cities Green,” it seems that Minnesota is getting greener!  According to The Green Guide, Minneapolis ranked 6th on its top 10 Green Cities list in 2005 (www.thegreenguide.com). With new organic and eco-friendly stores popping up around the twin cities, it looks like were making some great changes. With new retail stores, comes new products, which ultimately means more ways to spend our money.  And while I don’t mind spending a little more on organic goods, I also like to do my part the cheap and easy way.
Here’s some great ways to … (4 comments)

firsttime buyers: Looking for Eco Friendly Paper - 10/31/07 11:43 AM
I'm in the stages of designing some postcards and would love to print on some biodegradable paper.  I always feel really bad when I see those cards that people stick on the outside of cars laying on the ground, it's not very pretty and not to mention good for the environment. And while I'm not ignorant enough to think that some of mine won't end up in the garbage, or worse on the ground, I just won't to make sure that if they do, they won't be as harmful.
Any ideas on where I can get such paper?

firsttime buyers: Craigslist Murder - 10/29/07 04:04 PM
Thanks to everyone who commented on my post, "Am I too young to use my picture?"  And while the overall vote is yes, I still have my concerns.
See, Katherine Olson, 24, was found dead in the trunk of her car at Burnsville park, Minnesota, late Friday night.  She was last seen on Thursday morning, when she went to meet someone about a baby-sitting job that was posted on Craigslist.

firsttime buyers: Virtual Tours - 10/26/07 05:53 PM
While watching Dateline NBC tonight, of course another story about the housing market slump comes on.  Tonight's topic: Sellers are having to get more aggressive with their selling techniques.  Duh! Today's market is very competitive.
80% of today's buyers are using the internet to search, and sellers know it.  Today's savvy sellers are asking for virtual tours to showcase their home.  I haven't personally created or used any, but I was wondering what you thought of them.
Do you feel they are worth their price and time to make? Is this something that you can foresee more and more sellers expecting … (16 comments)

firsttime buyers: Uptown MN Realtor in Love - 10/25/07 04:53 PM
I am absolutely in love with Uptown MN. I've been a native to MN my entire life and it wasn't until I was 21 that I discovered this little peace of heaven in MN. I love the simple blend of urban meets nature. I fell in love with the area so much that at the tender age of 23, my boyfriend and I bought a condo right in the heart of town. Now I get to enjoy my two loves, Uptown Living and working in Real Estate…ok three loves, my boyfriend. If you’re ever in the Twin Cites, then I suggest … (7 comments)

firsttime buyers: Minnesota's Buyers are Biting - 10/25/07 04:19 PM
Why is everything you read or hear about the housing market so depressing??? It's hard to not sit and read the paper or flip on the news and not see the headlines; "Housing Market Crash," "Foreclosure's on the Rise," and my favorite, "Housing Bubble Busted." Isn't there anything else to talk about? Or better yet, anything positive to report? How about reporting on the benefits of owning your own home such as tax incentives and a place to call home. With all the negative publicity, Minnesota's buyers aren't afraid. Check out these videos and see why today is a good day … (0 comments)

firsttime buyers: Am I Too Young To Use My Picture? - 10/24/07 02:26 PM
I finally decided to put my picture on active rain, I must say I was very hesitant to do so.  See I am only 23 and I've heard that when your young in real estate it's probable best not to use a photo of yourself right away.
I haven't had a professional one taken yet, beacause I can't decided if I really want to use one on my business card and marketing materials.  I know it's a great way to market yourself, but I've really been just using my name Tyghre (tiger) because I think thats a better rout to start … (39 comments)

firsttime buyers: What Should I Be Wearing? - 10/24/07 02:12 PM
I am 23 years old and I just got my license a little over two months ago. I am the young one in my office, the person closes to me is 29.  As I sit in my desk, I often wonder if what I'm wearing is appropriate for my age and the job, I usually wear a nice pair of black pants and a simple sweater.
As I look to the right of me, I see some ladies all decked out, with their 4-inch stilettos and fancy cocktail rings.  And then I look to the left and see some guy wearing … (13 comments)

Loft and Condo living is an alternative lifestyle for many individuals, especially those who wish to be close to downtown. The Twin Cities have many amazing Lofts and Condos to fit just about anyone’s desires. If your interested in this type of living, I suggest you check out the 4th Annual Twin Cities Loft & Condo Tour beginning the weekend of November 2nd and ending November 18th. firsttime buyers: Life as a Renter - 10/13/07 06:26 PM
The stench that lurks in the hallways, you know that smell, the one you can never quite figure out what it is and you know it’s probably best if you don’t. The noise, the never ending thump, thump, thump. And probably the most annoying, the property manager who always forgets to process maintenance requests; “hello my toilet doesn’t flush and this is like the fifth message and I really need to use it!”
One lazy afternoon while watching Oprah, a man by the name David Bach, talked about the power and wealth of owning real estate. Soon after the show … (2 comments)

firsttime buyers: Supply and Demand - 10/11/07 10:33 AM
Have you ever gone into a department store and just become overwhelmed at the selection. You want to buy… it’s just going to take you longer. After hours of searching, you finally find the perfect cut, color and size and then you see that there 10 more of the same one. After glancing at the price you decide to wait tell it goes on sale reassuring yourself that there are 10 left. This is the same reaction today’s home buyers are struggling with. There is and have been a rising number of properties that fit their needs and they too are hesitant … (2 comments)
