&lt;p&gt;Tomorrow - Tuesday - October 14 -&amp;nbsp;2008 - is federal election day in Canada.&lt;br /&gt;The reasons why Canadian citizens&amp;nbsp;should vote&amp;nbsp;may be found throughout our&amp;nbsp;history.&lt;br /&gt;Casting your vote&amp;nbsp;is&amp;nbsp;a right of citizenship. However&amp;nbsp;it's not an obligation.&lt;br /&gt;And it's your right to be apathetic about voting.&lt;br /&gt;However democracy feels&amp;nbsp;much better when a high percentage of citizens vote.&lt;br /&gt;To quote our great Canadian character Red Green, &lt;strong&gt;"&lt;em&gt;We're all in this together".&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/em&gt;So please vote.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Provided&amp;nbsp;the&amp;nbsp;news reports&amp;nbsp;are accurate, the Government of Canada made a smart move by&amp;nbsp;purchasing 25 billion dollars worth&amp;nbsp;of residential mortgages which&amp;nbsp;are&amp;nbsp;insured by the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. This is a sound investment at this time because Canadian&amp;nbsp;insured mortgages offer&amp;nbsp;a guaranteed rate of return.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Canadian mortgage lenders will now be able to continue offering residential mortages to their&amp;nbsp;homebuying clients. The world wide credit crunch might have affected Canadian mortgage lenders ability to fund residential housing purchases in Canada.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;This is good news for Canadian&amp;nbsp;home buyers&amp;nbsp;and Canadian real estate professionals.&lt;/p&gt;    </content>

date to end of September 2008&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/h1&gt;

  &lt;font size="2"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: 700"&gt;In New Brunswick, m&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;font size="2" style="outline: none; font-weight: 700"&gt;ultiple 
  starts (which include semi-detached homes) are up 11.2% while single detached 
  starts are up 2.9% resulting in a 6.7% increase in the total number of all unit 
  starts.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;p align="left" style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 10px"&gt;

  &lt;font size="2"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Moncton's year to date decline of 16% in single family 
  starts is responsible for all but 4 of Moncton's lower start total.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/li&gt;
  &lt;li style="outline: none"&gt;
  &lt;p align="left" style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 10px"&gt;
  &lt;font size="2" style="outline: none"&gt;&lt;b&gt;Moncton continues to lead in total 
  starts year to date with 1,009, followed by Saint John with 669 and 
  Fredericton with 515.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

  &lt;p align="left" style="MARGIN-TOP: 0px; MARGIN-BOTTOM: 10px"&gt;

  is 45% in Saint John, 59% in Moncton and 29% in Fredericton.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/li&gt;

    <title>Canadian Housing Website Stats August 2008</title>

&lt;p&gt;Activity on&amp;nbsp;the &lt;strong&gt;Canadian REALTOR&amp;reg;&lt;/strong&gt; web sites - &lt;a href="http://www.mls.ca/" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;www.mls.ca&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/a&gt; and &lt;a href="http://www.sia.ca/" target="_blank"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;www.sia.ca&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;- was down in August compared to the previous two years. So if you've noticed a little less activity on your MLS&amp;reg; listing, now you know why. The key word is little. The number of unique visitors was down only 10% from 2007 and almost identical to 2006.&amp;nbsp;I find there are other interesting trends in these statistics.&amp;nbsp;The mls.ca site is in English and the sia.ca site is in French.&lt;/p&gt;

    in the metro Moncton area. I've prepared the tables below to show 
    sales in the metro area ONLY (City of Moncton, City of 
    Dieppe and Town of Riverview), as reported in the Moncton Real Estate Board 
    Multiple Listing Service&#174; database.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

    &lt;p&gt; &lt;b&gt; &lt;font face="Arial" size="2" color="#A81E42"&gt;These statistics point 
    to a metro area residential market that so far is almost identical to 
    last year.&lt;br&gt;
    Unit sales are down a mere 1.7% year to date.&lt;br&gt;
    &lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;font size="2" color="#A81E42"&gt;&lt;b&gt;A&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/font&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="2" color="#A81E42"&gt;verage 
    sale price, average sale to list percentage and average list duration are 
    all nearly the same year over year.&lt;br&gt;
    New construction sales represent over 20% of the residential metro market.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;With two thirds of 2008 now past, the real estate market in Metro Moncton 
and surrounding area continues to reinforce its reputation for stability.&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;

of the 2008 real estate market is over in the Southeast New Brunswick area and

&lt;font face="Arial"&gt;is down a little under 3%. &lt;br&gt;
Insignificant really considering that 2008 year-to-date is still 7.8% ahead of

&lt;h2 align="left"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"&gt;Active 
residential listings at the end of June were up 4.2 % over June of 2007.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;

&lt;h2 align="left"&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;font face="Arial" size="3" color="#FFFFFF"&gt;The sales 
to new listings ratio year for June 2008 was very strong at 71% compared to 66% 
for June 2007.&lt;/font&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/h2&gt;
