Hey gang,
We are always looking for new leads and referrals.  As a fairly new LO, that's my biggest challange.  My goal is to find a consistent referral stream to provide me with leads.  I know I'm dreaming, but that's my goal.  In the meantime, I was filling my coffee mug at the local gas station the day.  It was chocolate rasberry.  Kinda had a burnt, strong taste.  It was worth the $1.07.  Anyway, while I'm waiting in line to pay, I hear the lady behind the counter say she's saving money to buy a house. Tonight I had the opportunity to stop in and visit a friend.  By the way, I am away from home on a personal matter.  So, I stopped in to see an old friend.  Now this friend has received my cards, has received calls from me begging for a referral, and I always just stop in and say hi when I'm around the area.  Interestingly tonight while we're talking, she says, "my husband asked if you were still doing mortgages." Hello Active Rain community,
 Everyone refers to the summer as the 'busy season' and the holidays as the slow season.  What do you do to prepare for a slowdown, based on seasonal activity.  It's makes sense that people aren't out home shopping as much in Dec and Jan as May and June.  How do you gear your business to stay successful?  Looking forward to some great ideas

We all tell our clients that they can reach us anytime. You can reach me night or day, 24/7.  I work weekends.  Call me on Sunday. 
 These are all lines that we've all heard in our personal lives as well as business dealings.  I even recently ran across someone in my area who promised to return voice messages within the hour. 
 My point is that I've left three messages for this person and still haven't heard a word back.  She has sent me a message loud and clear, she's not interested in speaking with me.

As I surf the ActiveRain network and meet more and more of it's members (mostly by reading their writings) the more I like AR and find more uses for it.  The amount and quality of content is beyond comment.  It's hard to even keep up with the current posts, none-the-less return and visit some of the older posts, like from last week.  Even though I've only been here about a week, I'm already finding individuals who I am building relationships with.  Of course the main purpose of the site would be to share thoughts, ideas and to grow everyone's business.  Anytime … (8 comments)

I found out the other day I must leave the state for a few weeks to take care of some old legal issues.  It didn't sound bad.  Pack my clothes, take my laptop, current phone contact list, and take a bunch of cards.  Ha.  Today i started making serious preparations for my open files.  Needless to say, the past two weeks have been the strongest two weeks I've had in six months.  As I sat at my desk today I didn't even know where to start.  How do I put these clients 'on hold' while I'm away.  Do I just tell … (15 comments)
