house values: Double Dip?

The National numbers are in and it looks like we have a double dip situation on our hands. January 2009 was the bottom of the market, but last months numbers show we could have another dip approaching. Last month the United States' home sales fell to a level we haven't seen in almost 15 years! Everyone expected home sales to be a little lower, but the results were lower than anyone thought. We knew it would be low because of the expiration of the tax credit. The tax credit compressed months of demand into a short period ot time. When (0 comments)

The dust is starting to settle from the recent government assistance program. And the question on everyone's mind is... what now? It is still a great time to buy because of low interest rates, and it is a good time to sell because buyers need properties to purchase! The recent grants were only for 1st time homebuyers and those who’d lived in their current home for more than five years. What if you weren't on this short list? house values: Zillow in Utah; Why Zillow may be accurate in other states but NOT in Utah!

Zillow has become quite popular for many people looking up to see what their home is worth. But is it accurate in Utah? Utah is a NON disclosure State while other states are Disclosure states. What does this mean? Many other states have laws that require when someone sells their home that they have to report to the state what the home sold for. This is called a disclosure state. In these states Zillow can pull off information from the state records and come up with a fairly close method of knowing what homes are selling for in that area. Utah on the other (3 comments)
