Built in 1921, the California bungalow style home is located at 1624 Seventh Avenue and was originally owned by Dr. Carl Ewart and his wife Tannis. Dr. Ewart worked as the City's Medical Health Officer and retired in 1946.The home was purchased by Hubert and Katharine King who owned the house from 1946 until 1978. Hub King was a prominent lawyer who began his practice in 1927 in Wells/Barkerville.
In 1985 the City adopted a new bylaw encouraging the renovation of homes to commercial uses, and the building was renovated into a popular restaurant called Rosel's. In 1991 and addition was … (1 comments)
