The Heart of Virginia Festival is an age old tradition here in Southside Virginia. This beautiful rails to trails state park starts in Nottoway County and winds about 32 miles through Prince Edward County and Cumberland Counties providing outdoor recreation many locals in South Central Virginia. The high point (no pun intended) is High Bridge that crosses the Appomattox River at a height of 160 feet and is almost 1/2 mile long.
