Rates are Great so why are Buyers still on the Fence - 04/29/09 05:28 PM
With such incredible rates why are buyers still sitting on the fence?  I have 8 buyers all waiting for the rates to either dip lower or for the homes to drop further in price.  "Just put in an offer and let's see where it goes"
Just an idea of rates and payments and what one can afford at these great rates -

Blue Skies! - 04/20/09 12:12 PM
I am thrilled to report that we are back to stunning blue skies in Santa Fe.  People were running around yesterday, Canyon Road was filled with people viewing the galleries.
I had multiple calls from buyers wanting to see properties and agents scheduling for today.  The buyers are out there, and with these mortgage rates it is a great time to invest in real estate.
Life is beautiful in Santa Fe, New Mexico!

Springtime Snow - 04/17/09 07:17 PM
Yes, it is snowing again here in Santa Fe.  With our high altitude of 7000 feet our cooler temperatures fool many. Today I was showing property - the skys were gloomy and dense with clouds.  Views of our beautiful mountains was not possible due to cloud cover.  As we were on our way to the last home the snow began to fall heavily creating a virtual white out and making it impossible to get traction on the steep driveway.  My Chicago clients were troopers and were trudged up the slushy snow and pretended to see the Sangre de Cristo mountains in the background.

Dismal Days - There is still business to be Had - 04/14/09 03:45 PM
Below you will see a photo taken from the back of my home on Easter weekend.  The wind was blowing 40 mph, it was raining then snowing and back to rain.  I woke up on Easter morning and thought it should have been Christmas.  There was an inch of snow on the ground.  This should not surprise me afterall our last freeze date in Santa Fe is May 15th.  If you grew up here you know not to put a plant outside until that date - I cannot tell you how many times throughout the years I have tempted that date … (7 comments)

Family Compounds - 04/07/09 12:22 PM
Recently I have been approched by potential buyers seeking family compounds for their 2nd home destinations.   Each of the family members are interested in traveling together with their parents, siblings and children.  They want some privacy but yet they want the together feeling of a family vacation.  It presented a new way of looking for properties, and knowing what was out on the market.  Much to my surprise I found many various homes with numerous guest homes which would fit the bill - to adjacent homes in small cluster settings.  It is a new way to look at the family vacation … (0 comments)

Movies and Real Estate - 04/06/09 03:59 PM
Many years ago I, at the tender age of 13, I was asked to be in a local movie, Billy Jack.  That led to Red Sky at Morning and then onto Running Wild and Showdown.  It was then I decided to pursue other interests leaning towards the fashion arena.
Well needless to say several years ago I was in a position to accept another movie, Buffalo Girls.  I had so much fun I have been doing background for many of our locally made movies and television shows, Swing Vote, In Plain Sight, Crazy Heart, and The Spy Next Door.  I will … (1 comments)

Santa Fe Site Seeing - Mission Cafe - 04/02/09 05:46 PM
Located on a hidden street - East DeVargas is a wonderful little cafe called the Mission Cafe located in the beautifully restored Manuel Valdes home.  The cafe is located behind the San Miguel Mission and the Oldest Home both considered to be the oldest missions and home in the United States.
The Manuel Valdes was the secon Mayor of Santa Fe and friend of Archbishop Lamy who built the Cathedral off the Santa Fe Plaza.  The house eventually passed to his grandson, Joseph Valdes, who himself served as Mayor of Santa Fe from 1972-1976.
The original building dates back to the earliest days of … (1 comments)
