Politics and Real Estate - What a combination!!! - 06/27/09 01:33 PM
I will come out and say it I am a registered Democrat and that is about the gist of it.  I serve as the chair of our local real estate government affairs committee, the vice-chair (incoming chair) of our state associations legislative committee, and finance chair of our county democratic committee.  I am also an RPAC trustee.  All of this is great since in the real estate committees we do our best to stay non-partisan and address issues which effect property rights.
But boy can it be scary when you get in a car with potential clients and they begin asking … (13 comments)

Daddy's Girl - 06/21/09 04:21 PM
Last year in August I lost my daddy.  He was a terrific man very loving and with a gap tooth smile that everyone adored.  I was daddy's girl of course so was my sister Felicia, and my sister Raquel, and my sister Kathy, and the granddaughter's but needless to say he loved each of us.  And he related to each of us as individuals understanding and knowing all the little intricacies that made of each of us so different.
Today is my first father's day without him.  So I met my mother, siblings, husband and daughter at his grave site.  We all took … (4 comments)

Think before you Speak - 06/19/09 11:45 AM
Yesterday I read an ActiveRain blog titled A Little Ancedote About Strangulation and Baseball.  The blog was very touching having been written by a husband whose wife has terminal breast cancer.  He spoke of the negativitiy of people and their very hurtful comments when his wife lost her hair due to the chemo treatments.  But most of all it was his relaying an experience at a baseball game they attended and her hair was beginning to grow back.  The nasty comments finally got to him and he snapped.  I couldn't blame him this was someone he loved and wanted to shelter.  It is … (13 comments)

Does your Past help you with your future? - 06/19/09 11:26 AM
I am sure many of you have pulled from your vast backgrounds to help in your business as a real estate agent.  I can assure you I have.  I have been fortunate to have roots in the Santa Fe area dating back to 1598, and very proud of the upcoming 400 anniversary of our beautiful city.  My background has been quite vast having worked in the movies since the age of 13, modeled until I was into my 40's, and worked with our state and city tourism folks to promote Santa Fe.  I was also fortunate enough to be employed by … (6 comments)

Santa Fe National Forest
Downtown Santa Fe has so much to offer - the Palace of the Governors (the oldest continuously used government building in the United States, the New Mexico Fine Arts Musuem, Fray Angelico History Library, New Mexico History Musuem and of course the often photographed Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi.  But what many are unaware of is only a few blocks away is the road leading to the Santa Fe Ski Area nestled in the Santa Fe National Forest.
This pristine area is filled with walking, biking trails, fishing and camping in the Spring, Summer and Fall, … (0 comments)

Santa Fe Site Seeing - Day Trips - Billy the Kid - 06/17/09 05:40 PM
Billy The Kid
Throughout the west is the allure of outlaws, cowboys and Indians, bank robbers and Billy the Kid.  Not far outside of Santa Fe one can head down to Lincoln County.  The trip would become more than a day trip and it would be recommended a stay in one of the many towns along the way.  In the town of Fort Sumner you will find the Billy the Kid musuem and gravesite.  There is currently some controversary about where the kid is actually buried - here or in Texas.  We here in New Mexico are sure of course that the kid is buried in … (0 comments)

Santa Fe - 400 years of History - 06/17/09 05:31 PM
Our Culture & History
The unique cultural mix that gives Santa Fe its special ambience is the product of centuries of co-existence among Native Americans, Spanish, Mexican, European and African Americans.  This blending of cultures is responsible for the distinctive architecture, cuisine and overall aesthetic that gave rise to Santa Fe's nickname, "The City Different."
Historical and Cultural DestinationsAll explorations of Santa Fe begin at the historic Plaza, where historic buildings and Old World Ambience tell the story of 400 years of existence.  The city's other attraction areas are a short walk away or accessible by city bus.

Buyer Dependancy - 06/01/09 11:36 AM
I have come to realize that some of my buyers (those I have been working with for many, many months) have become dependant on my company.  They speak about how they are going to miss my company after they find a home.  Try as I may to explain to them that I remain in touch with all of my clients and actually become very great friends with most.
Because of this I have began to wonder if perhaps some buyers are reluctant to find a home because they fear they will then end the companionship.  I will need to assure some of … (7 comments)
