Big swing in interest rates occurring today for 3 big reasons: 1. HEALTH CARE- love it or hate, this is a big deficit machine that will affect our deficits & inflation. Foreign investors weigh this when considering purchasing our long term debt in the form of Treasuries & MBS (mortgage backed securities). 2. FEDERAL RESERVE BANK- end their $1.25 trillion Agency purchase program (of MBS- mortgage backed securities) in just 5 business days…this has helped keep interest rates (5 comments)
Waconia Home Prices and Sales Statistics by Community - 03/20/10 07:55 PM
Each month I enjoy updating you on the real estate market using real numbers. Every day we hear statements about the housing market; home prices are stable, listings have increased, home sales have decreased. But rarely do we see actual numbers. Each month I pull these actual numbers from the MLS to help you see exactly how the market is doing. Compared to last month, it looks like the inventory of homes on the market has increased. This is great for buyers because they have more choices. We are getting close to the deadline for using the Home Buyers Tax (0 comments)
Moving With Your Pets - 03/15/10 08:15 PM
It can be traumatic for an animal to go through a move simply because their entire lives are usually confined within the four walls of your home. It is particularly worse for indoor pets. But it doesn't have to be stressful on you or your animals if you keep a few things in mind. How far is the move? Depending on the temperament and size of your pet, as well as the distance you're moving, you may want a pet transporter. A transporter will move your pet by ground which eliminates the trauma of moving pets by other methods and provides (2 comments)
Crazy and Outdated Minnesota Laws - 03/11/10 06:56 PM
It is amazing how many absurd laws are still on the books around the country. Minnesota has its fair share of these dumb laws and I wanted to share a few. The land of 10,000 lakes declares mosquitos a public nuisance. (we needed a law to tell us this?) All bathtubs must have feet. (no, not real feet) Clawson: There is a law that makes it legal for a farmer to sleep with his pigs, cows, horses, goats, and chickens. (this is disturbing) In Duluth it is illegal to allow animals to sleep in a bakery. (not sure about a Starbucks though) In Minnesota, it's (4 comments)
Financial Resources and Information For The Waconia Home Buyer - 03/05/10 07:47 PM
The home owners tax credit that was extended into 2010 will be ending soon so if you are considering purchasing a home, keep this in mind. A valid purchase contract needs to be signed by April 30, 2010 to qualify for the credit. Most Waconia buyers will need to finance their home, so I've provided brief financial information to help get you started. FHA Loans are subject to loan limits that are frequently updated. MortgageLoanPlace.com is a great resource for current information on FHA loans. The current FHA limit for Carver county for a single family home is $365,000. To view other counties please visit MortgageLoanPlace.com. The United (0 comments)
2009 Residential Real Estate Activity Report for Twin Cities - 03/01/10 08:53 PM
The Minneapolis Area Association of Realtors recently released their Residential Real Estate Activity Report. The information below is taken from this and reflects information for 2009. Last year, mortgage rates continued to decline and housing prices remained soft. Sales were also higher in the affordable price segments due to the first-time home buyer tax credit and increased lender-mediated sales. Also, total dollar volume was boosted by the increased number of transactions after declining over the last three years. The average square foot of homes bought in 2009 declined slightly, which makes sense since there was a rise in 'affordable home' sales. The (0 comments)
