ProBlogger Offers "Killer" Advice on How to Write Better. (A Must Read) - 02/29/08 09:40 AM
You do not need to be a professional writer to be an effective blogger. In fact, I think that "professional" writing can actually inhibit the conversational style of blogging. I recommend blogging more like you are actually talking to someone. However, there are definitely ways to IMPROVE your writing/blogging skills (beyond spell check) ... ways to make your readers coming back for more, more, more. Have you been reading ProBlogger? I hope so. If not, go do it now. And put it in your RSS or Google feed reader. ProBlogger is one of my all-time favorite Blog Toolboxes. Every time I (53 comments)
Pikes Peak May Get a 6-Run Ski Resort in Near Future - 02/28/08 09:19 PM
Hey Lenn Harley! Guess What? Pikes Peak (Your Favorite Mountain) may be getting a new ski resort! According to a recent KKTV News Report, there is "talk" about a new ski resort on Pikes Peak. Pikes Peak (the beautiful mountain between Colorado Springs and Woodland Park) used to offer a few ski runs on the North side (1939-1984) but " but trail maintenance was costly and snow was sparse at times" which caused the runs to be closed down. Harvey Carter is the man behind the idea of openeing up a Pikes Peak Ski Resort. He owns 320 acres on the west side of Pikes Peak that (5 comments)
Bank Owned Homes for Sale in Colorado Springs - 02/28/08 11:49 AM
The Colorado Springs Real Estate market has seen an influx in bank owned homes in the past year. What is a Bank Owned Home? A "bank owned home" is a home that a mortgage company, or bank, takes ownership of after the home goes through a foreclosure. Sometimes this is referred to as REO - Real Estate Owned property. What is a foreclosure? Per the RealEstateWiki, a foreclosure is "a legal process whereby property pledged as security for a debt is sold to satisfy a debt in the event of a default in payments or terms." Very Basic Example: John Smith finds a home for (3 comments)
What is a Blog Troll? According to one of my new favorite Bloggers, Meg Fowler: "They're the ones making inflammatory and threatening comments, trying to create conflict where none is necessary. They're the ones who send vicious mail to mommy bloggers because they made some cosmic mistake like feeding their child a donut. They're the ones who take other peoples' pictures and writing and pass them off as their own. They're the ones who believe that debate is a bloodsport, whether it be political, social or anything in between. " There will come a point in your blogging "life" where you will either: Read (46 comments)

What Does it Take to Be the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World? - 02/18/08 10:26 AM
Preface: This post is inspired by a contest of sorts that I barely understand: Greatest real estate agent in the world post by Eric Bramlett. It has something to do with an SEO race that ARDELL, the Greatest Real Estate Agent in the World, seems to be winning. What does it take to be the greatest real estate agent in the world? Is it the availablility 24/7 for clients and potential clients? Is it the perfect balance between professional real estate and personal life? Is it the ability to predict the market, list and sell every house and find the perfect home for (10 comments)
Sellers: Top 5 Ways How NOT to Be an Accidental Landlord in Today's Market - 02/17/08 04:15 PM
The real estate market has been shifting and putting home some sellers in the new role of Accidental Landlords. No question there. I read a recent CSBJ article that detailed the story of a local family who put their home on the market in 2006, where is continued to sit as the market continued to shift. Now in their new home and because they can no longer afford two mortgages, they are looking at renting it out... over a year later. They had not previously intended to be landlords, but now are a part of the growing community of "Accidental Landlords" - a new role (3 comments)
