Here is the lowdown on the market in Roanoke VA. Currently we are running at a 15 month supply, down from a 16.5 month supply in September 2010.

Today I got on the local Multiple Listing Service that is available to all of the members of the Roanoke Valley Association of Realtors and checked out the foreclosure houses in Roanoke City, Roanoke County, Salem, Bedford County and Botetourt County. As of this morning there were 106 homes listed as foreclosures in these areas. The prices range from a $710,000, 3572 sq.ft., 3 bedroom 3.5 bath, lakefront home on Smith Mountain Lake all the way to a $14,900, 1456 sq.ft., 3 bedroom 1 bath in Southeast Roanoke. Hey Roanoke home sellers, wanna get your home sold? Then make it sparkle! This is a buyers market! The unfortunate thing is that many buyers are sitting on the sidelines, waiting to see the market bottom out, unsure about their own personal financial future or just overwhelmed by the negative press about the housing market and the economy as a whole.
