National Volunteer Week, Do Something For Others And You Get The Reward! - 04/22/09 07:46 PM
Thank goodness we have lots of people who volunteer their time and services to others, why do they do it?
Because they showed up at a meeting and raised their hand (this has always been my problem) Because they know if they don't volunteer, it won't get done Because no matter what kind of appreciation they get, or don't get, they know in their own hearts that they stepped up and did the best they could Because the act of volunteering fills a need we have to contribute to our community, some in small ways, some in large ways So do … (0 comments)

List to get out the door post - 04/18/09 10:50 AM

Why is it that when I am backing out of my garage, I suddenly remember 2 necessary items I needed to take with me?
Today, it happened to both my husband and myself.  We had to stop the car and both get out and run in the house and pick up what we forgot, me some postcards to mail, him the Netflix to put in the mail.  We just organized our departure from the house to include these items, we just didn't get out the door with them, the first time.
Make sure I have my phone Make sure … (10 comments)

Overlooking the obvious ? - 04/16/09 08:54 PM
Check this to the bottom and ask yourself if you ever thought the term "assumable" would be important in the housing market again?  Very good points, well taken.
Via John MacArthur Branch Manager (Long and Foster Real Estate, Inc.):

So much as changed in a few short years. It seems like only yesterday that buyers were coming through the office door wielding approval letters that far out paced their ability to pay. In those days, buyers found no doc, no verification, no down payment, no interest, no common sense loans available from anyone that had a dime … (0 comments)

A carrot, an egg, and a cup of coffee...You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again - Janice Roosevelt, Ecobroker, ABR, ePRO - Matt Fetick Real Estate Team, Keller Williams - PA & DE - 04/15/09 09:26 PM
The lessons we learn from things we find right in our own kitchen!
Via Janice Roosevelt,Ecobroker, ABR, e-PRO - Matt F (Matt Fetick Real Estate Team - Keller Williams Real Estate -):
A young man went to his mother and told her about his life and how  things were so hard for him. He didn't  not know how he was going to make it and wanted to give up,.
His mother took him to the kitchen and filled three pots with water and  placed each on a high fire.

Soon the pots came to boil.
In the first she  placed carrots,
in the second she … (0 comments)

Freedom, freedom, freedom, oh ya, taxes are done and it's not even April 15th! - 04/11/09 07:23 PM
My gut's been just aching, why don't I do this sooner?  Why must I torture myself right up until the last possible moment?  Could I be in a unique, but popular group of procrastinators?  Is there an active rain group for this?
Yes I pay, and pay, but thank goodness I am paying because I had some income.  I've been watching my expenses, very closely and I've come to the conclusion that I am a thrifty person!  I do have fellow Realtors who are really struggling with income/taxes right now.  I must say that I was not expecting to have such … (3 comments)

Could You Put A Windmill In Your Subdivision? - 04/07/09 08:21 PM
Should subdivision CCR's prepare themselves for alternative energy accomodations?  Will need trump conformity someday?
Take a drive in the country, almost anywhere in the plain states and you will see the horizon dotted with an occasional windmill.  Makes you think of two things: domestic water, stock water.  I'm not talking about windmill farms, I'm talking about local power, provided by the wind.
Since historically we needed wind power to supply basic needs of live water, will we ever see this practice accepted in smaller applications?
I don't know of too many rural subdivisions who would have a restriction for a windmill, … (5 comments)

Small Acre Lot Prices hold on in Billings Montana - 04/07/09 07:54 PM
I've had a few Montana Dreamin' folks call me lately looking for a price slashed vacant lot, and I'm sorry, we just haven't seen that yet! In fact, we may escape this syndrome!
We have a lot of Lots (that's a mouthful isn't it?) for sale, but the developer/capital holder is in this game for the long haul, and they should be!  We continue to be a growth area, not rapid growth but more of a steady 2% hill climb.  You can review statistics and predictions from a number of economists, and they basically say the same thing, we are steady … (0 comments)

Montana Gopher Wars: Part 2 - 04/04/09 08:27 PM
New discovery in the war against gophers at the Thomas acres.  Paint the PVC pipe brown and rub some dirt in it!
Please refer to Montana Gopher Wars:  Part 1 for the introduction to this militant activity.
All of the cable tv my 21 year old son has watched over the years must have paid off!  He's been a fan of Animal Planet and the Discovery Channel for years.  He has a look at our great plan for getting gophers to take the bait out of our PVC pipe contraptions and makes a note "Mom, a gopher doesn't want to go … (3 comments)
