The Deer Creek neighborhood lies on the edge of the Urban Growth Boundary and lies adjacent to many farms, wooded areas, and seasonal creeks and wetlands. This provides habitat for deer, which roam the streets and yards of this area, hence the name, Deer Creek. Deer can be seen in the area at all times of the year. Durham Oregon: Durham is a community located in the south-east city limits of Tigard and borders with Lake Oswego. Durham is actually an incorporated city that uses many of the City of Tigard services. Residences consist of single family homes, townhomes, condos and apartments. There also is retail, commercial and light industrial property in the area. The newer homes are generally of the higher density variety, while the older homes offer large lots and mature landscaping. Summer Lake Park has waterfowl, aquatic animals, and three foot bridges spanning the waterways. The park offers recreational opportunities and a walking path through wooded areas. The Summer Lake neighborhood is connected to the park by walking paths throughout the area. There is a popular public dog park at Summer Lake Park that neighbors use as an informal gathering place. Cook Park neighborhood of Tigard: This neighborhood is situated around Cook Park and is generally considered to be south of Durham Rd. to the Tualatin River, with Tigard High School being the eastern boundary and SW 113th being the western boundary. Cook Park is 79 acres on the Tualatin River that offers an abundance of recreational activities. Kayaking on the Tualatin River is quite popular, along with observing waterfowl and aquatic animals. Metzger - Tigard: The Metzger neighborhood of Tigard is .74 square miles of single family homes, town homes, condos, and apartments that is located where Tigard, Beaverton and SW Portland intersect. Most of the Metzger neighborhood is located within unincorporated Washington County and is not in any city limits. The zip code generally used is 97223 and the city used is Tigard. Tigard does not have its own post office and 97223 is a City of Portland zip code. I know this quaint fact because I live in Metzger. Summerfield, Tigard. Summerfield is a planned, 55+ retirement community in Tigard, Oregon, that is built around a beautiful, par 33, 2475 total yards, nine-hole golf course. Built on 203 acres starting in 1973, it is a mixture of single family homes, townhomes, condos and apartments. Summerfield has 40 acres dedicated to recreation which consists of a 24,000 square foot Clubhouse, tennis courts, swimming pool, green spaces and walking paths.
