Before you start looking, think about what types of features you would like in a home. 
Do you want a big yard?  If so, you'll have more yard maintenance than if you choose a home with a small yard like a townhome, or a condo with no yard.  If the yard has a lot of trees, you'll be doing a lot of leaf raking and bagging in the fall.  But you'll also have more outdoor room for entertaining and if you have children or dogs, for playing.

Buying a home for the first time can be daunting.  Selling your home and moving to your next can be just as challenging as the average person only buys a couple of homes in their lifetime.

This is a very important article to help you understand changes to FHA loans.  In theory you can get an FHA loan with a low credit score, however in practice, it just doesn't happen.  Jeff knows some lenders that will go as low as 580, however most require a minimum 620.  We are Realtors, not mortgage loan officers, which is why we defer to the professionals to explain mortgage loan options and this is a much easier to read explanation as to the realities of current FHA guidelines.
