Cancer survivors will be honored by Plainfielders in the Third Annual Relay for Life Overnight Event. The function starts this evening at 6:00 PM from the Hub Stine Field at and will end at 7:00 AM on Sunday, May 23, 2010. There are 42 teams organized to walk through the night in an effort to raise funds to find a cure. A luminaria Ceremony will be held at 9:00 PM. The Rhythm & Blues by the Brook musc festival in Plainfield is now entering its 12th year as one of New Jersey's primier musical events. The festival spans the genre of rhythm and blues from the early 1970s to current day renditions. In previous years the festival has included the likes of Roberta Flack as well as , Ashford & Simpson. The is a family friendly event for all ages with a special chldrens area, as well as a food vendors section. The American Red Cross Babysitting Course says gone are the days of calling the neighbor's daughter to babysit. At least, without her having the proper credentials. Childcare on all levels is important. When education on childcare can be obtained, it should be embraced, because it only enhances the provider's knowledge.
