North Plainfield offers a variety of housing styles. However, homes with five or more bedrooms are very limited. During the course of the last 10 months, there have only been four sales of five plus bedroom homes. The median list price has been $359,000 with a median sales price of $345,000.

North Plainfield is marching to a tune all of it's own. While many municipalities in the central part of the state are experiencing around three months on the market before closing, North Plainfield is firmly at the two month mark. Last month there were 305 homes for sale with an average listing price of $335,056. During June of last year, there were 223 homes on the market with an average list price of $326, 137. Nestled in the northernmost part of Somerset County sits the Borough of North Plainfield. The Borough was established in 1885, when it separated from the Township, which consisted of North Plainfield, Watchung and Greenbrook. Today North Plainfied is richly diverse in architecture and culture.

Established as an independent borough on June 9, 1885, North Plainfield is situated in the northern portion of Somerset County in central New Jersey. The location makes for easy access to Routes 22 and 78. Additionally, the Raitan Valley train line provides easy access for commuters destined for New York City.
