Ultimate Bachelor Pad - 04/29/10 03:23 PM
I recently received an eflyer with a subject line of "ultimate bachelor pad", which got me to thinking if this would be considered a violation of the Federal Fair Housing Act? Would this be considered discrimination against women, and or familial status? I think it could be considered crossing the line, but not sure. What are your thoughts? (4 comments)
Slow Cooker BBQ Brisket - 04/29/10 03:17 PM
While nothing beats the taste of smoked pit barbecue, the following recipe works well if you do not own a pit. 1 3-4 pound trimmed brisket 2 teaspoons of salt divided 2 cloves garlic pressed 1 10 oz can beef broth 1 cup ketchup ½ cup packed brown sugar ½ cup lemon juice 3 tablespoons A1 steak sauce 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
Sprinkle beef evenly with 1 teaspoon salt. Combine other ingredients, pour about half of the mixture in the slow cooker, add the beef, top with the remainder of the mixture. Cook on high for (2 comments)

In the Dallas Morning News I like to read who is celebrating a birthday on this date. Which got me to thinking how old were some people when they died.
Here is a list I came up with.
So do only the good die young?

Rudolph's Market and Sausage Factory - 04/19/10 10:56 AM
Last Friday we decided to have lunch at The Angry Dog in the Deep Ellum section of East Dallas. Only about one mile from our home we just don't think about going there that often, but we were hungry for a good burger, and The Angry Dog is one of the best in Dallas. After lunch Sharon said we should check out Rudolphs Market, which is just a few block from where we were. Wow what a treat to find this market. They have been in business since 1895 (no that is not a typo). They feature prime beef; their in (3 comments)

Kevin Eubanks leaving The Tonight Show - 04/13/10 07:31 AM
We usually watch the beginning of the Tonight Show and with Monday's being headline night make it a point to watch that also. Last evening when the show went to its first commercial break, my wife Sharon commented what a great job Kevin Eubanks had. At the completion of the headline segment, Jay asked Kevin to come out. Kevin sits down and proceeds to tell the audience that after 18 years he would be leaving the show. Sharon and I were very surprised. (4 comments)
