Thank you for your involvement.  Because of all of the action you took in emailing and calling, the Surprise City Council voted to table the amendments to the Rental Ordinance and increasing fees for the business license.  We will continue to monitor this issue and other issues that come up and will notify you so that your voice can be heard.

I am an Arizona native raised on the West side of the valley in Glendale and now living in Surprise.  In November, I married my best friend Tony.  I have many interests which include spending time with my family camping, fishing, hiking, and traveling.  I enjoy spending time with my step-son Anthony and our three dogs.  I like to watch movies at home and my two all time favorites are Bed of Roses and The Notebook.  I came to WeMAR after a 15 year career as a Corporate Trainer in the Insurance industry and a short time in Real Estate.   I enjoy being the Membership Director in the Sun City office where I meet new people and establish relationships with our members each day.  I assist the Education Director with signing members up for classes and all the details that go along with the classes.  I am the WeMAR Liaison for the REALTORs® Helping Seniors Day, the WeMAR CARES Committee and the Women's Council of REALTORs®.

Contact the City of Surprise Mayor and City Council and tell them you oppose increasing the business licensing fees from $100 to $400 and being made responsible for the crimes of your tenants!

The City of Surprise is considering an ordinance that penalizes responsible rental owners and professional property managers if they do not submit their properties to "voluntary inspections".  Additionally, the ordinance makes owners and agents responsible for the crimes of their tenants.

The Mayor and City Council will consider this ordinance on November 12^th at 6:00p.m.  Along with sending an email (link below) or calling each member, please attend the hearing and voice your opinion.  If you plan to attend, please contact Manny Tarango at manny@medandassociates.com or 602-510-4449 for talking points.
