venice: Venice, Florida Celebrates 85th Anniversary with a Bash!

Our beautiful Venice was incorporated by the Florida Legislature on May 9, 1927.The City is planning several celebrations to honor this great event. The celebration will begin with a beach bash on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Venice Public Beach. There will be food, music, volleyball, yoga, kayaking, sailing and much more. Bring the entire family and enjoy the beautiful Florida sunshine and fun times on the beach. As painful as it is, we as Americans must remember 9-ll and honor all our fallen heroes. It’s hard to believe that 10 years have passed since that horrible day. We still grieve for all the Americans that lost fathers, mothers, husbands, wives, sisters, brothers, aunts, uncles, friends and other loved ones. We, as residents of Venice, feel especially connected to this tragic event. Regrettably, some of the terrorists took flying lessons at our own Venice Airport and lived in our community. Due to the fact that Terry is no longer interested in writing this blog…he’s too busy…he just wants to sell real estate and play golf…I’m stepping in. I have to say that it has been a big decision. Me?? Blog?? What do I blog about? Will it be interesting to others? What can I say about real estate in Venice Florida that hasn’t already been said? Jacaranda Boulevard is a lovely, tree-lined thoroughfare that meanders through one of Venice, Florida’s most appealing neighborhoods. This scenic route takes you from the I75 Interstate to State Roads 41 and then 776. Along the way, you can see a range of properties: condos, villas and single family homes in well-maintained deed-restricted neighborhoods. Many of these homes border the golf course and the lakes within Jacaranda. The community offers the best of Southwest Florida living. The many amenities of the area contribute to a healthy, active life. At the top of the list would be the golf and tennis facilities.
