Everytime I try to redo my Profile activerain signs me off. - 11/28/08 09:52 PM
Is it common to have the system sign you off every time you try to put in a new blog. Am I doing something wrong or is this common? It is starting to really bug me that I can't just do a simple function. That is why I'm asking if it is me or do they have lots of problems keeping the system going?

Why do some people always see beautiful skies and grass and lovely flowers and incredible human beings, while others are hard-pressed to find anything or any place that is beautiful? (Leo Buscaglia) - 11/26/08 03:47 PM
It's your vision for the future that will determine whether you see things in a good or a bad light. I choose to spend the Thanksgiving holiday with my family and only see the good in all of them, even thought I will be spending two hours with them in the car each way to my cousin's house! I just have to remember the beautiful skies and lovely flowers as they are yelling at each other about which CD we should be playing. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Without heroes, we are all plain people, and don't know how far we can go. (Bernard Malamud) - 11/25/08 11:07 AM
What is a hero? A hero is someone who instinctively acts in a positive manner to aid in a difficult situation, and individual who sets their mind on accomplishing something that others thought was impossible. They were so focused on the end result that they weren't afraid how they would get there., just that they know they would. They didn't focus on their own needs, but on what it would take to finish the task. The real hero isn't looking for praise for a job well done. We all have the potential to be a hero!

The world is moving so fast these days that people who say it can't be done are generally interrupted by someone doing it. (Elbert Hubbard) - 11/24/08 10:38 AM
When I first discovered this quotation by Elbert Hubbard, I was immediately drawn to the impact of what it said, How often have we had an idea and dismissed it thinking it was impossible to achieve, but shortly thereafter, someone made a good profit by implementing the very idea we dismissed. Ideas are like diamonds in the rough. until we have taken the time to clean them, polish them, and get a good look at all they have to offer, we shouldn't give up on them.

Every time you graduate from the school of experience someone thinks up a new course. (Anon) - 11/21/08 10:14 AM
Isn't the name of that institution the "School of Hard Knocks"! We will never stop learning from life's adventures. Once you think you have mastered a subject, the class is over. The good news is that the more courses you take, the better you become at dealing with life's next challenge.

Under normal periods, any person's success hinges about 5 percent on what thoers do for him and 95 percent on what he does. (James A Worsham) - 11/20/08 10:28 AM
I know it's hard to stay focused in this economic environment, but the only way to turn this monster around is if each of us actually produces the full 95% out of ourselves. Don't worry about what others aren't doing, focus on what you can do! So let's get out and take down this monster!

A desk is a watebasket with drawers. (Anon) - 11/19/08 10:31 AM
This week, when we moved our offices, I had to pack my desk and I didn't think that it would be such a big chore. I don't know how many times I said to myself "That's where that went!" or "I can't believe it took that many boxes for four little drawers!" I have to say cleaning out my desk does make me feel like I have a better grip on my stuff now. Clean your desk and you will be surprised what you find.

Every man who is high up loves to think that he has done it all himself: and the wife smiles, and lets it go at that. (James M Barrie) - 11/18/08 11:07 AM
Whenever we have a barbecue, my loving wife goes into the kitchen and starts to prepare all the food hours in advance. You know, the small task of making appetizers, salads and dessert. When everyone starts to arrive, I greet them at the door, have small talk for a couple of minutes, and then I have to get ready for the big show. It takes me some time to get ready, like a warrior preparing for battle. I walk to the drawer in our kitchen that holds my special barbecue apron. I put on the apron, grab my nice shiny cooking tools (that my … (2 comments)

"I have learned to imagine an invisible sign around each person's neck that says, "Make me feel important!" (Mary Kay) - 11/17/08 05:45 PM
Don't we all want to feel important? I think this is the number one feeling that drives people to greatness. If you feel good about yourself and what you're doing, it cuts down on all sorts of mental blocks you might otherwise have. So, if you make someone else feel good about what they are doing, it will give them a wonerful feeling of accomplishment and let them know they are improtant.

"If miney is your hope for independence you will never have it. The only real security that a man can have in this world is a reserve of knowledge, experience and ability. (Henry Ford) - 11/16/08 11:25 PM
All you have to do is pick up your Bible and read Proverbs. It talks about attaining wisdom, knowledge, and discipline. These are not new ideas! Greats like Henry Ford understood the power of these three words, and lived them to better mankind. The more you know, the more you are worth to yourself and your company. Start reading and start listening to what is going on around you. Position yourself wisely through attaining knowledge.

If we spend our time with regrets over yesterday, and worries over what might happen tomorrow, we have no today in which to live. (Anon) - 11/15/08 11:19 AM
Stop letting things you have done, or had done to you, keep you from living today. My father in-law always tells me "I don't regret even one day in my life. If life wouldn't have given me challenges, I wouldn't be where I am today!" He's 86 years old and still splits his own fire wood! Has he made all the right decisions? No, he lives with them and moves on. At 86, he lives everyday to it's fullest and doesn't worry about tomorrow. The harder you work today, the more prepared you will be for whatever tomorrow brings.

The courage to be is the courage to accept oneself, in spite of being unacceptable.(Paul Tillich) - 11/14/08 08:44 PM
Think back to when you were a teenager and you will totally relate to what I have to say. A teenager's best friend is the mirror! My kids can't go by one without stopping. my son is the worst. If there is a mirror behind you, you can see him looking past you as if you don't even exist, just to see if his hair is in the right place. He likes it even better if he can flex his arms to see if his muscles have grown since he passed by the mirror in the other room 30 seconds earlier. … (0 comments)

"The biggest problem is not to add years to your life-but life to your years."(Anon) - 11/13/08 12:58 PM
As I progress in life, I have been blessed to have several friends, much older than me, that continue to look, act, and feel much younger than the calendar says they are. Their energy and their constant search for the next exciting adventure has always amazed me. My challenge for you is to not only find these people, but to become more like them. I think people have a tendency to sell out too quickly to old father time! Get fired up and start living!

In America there is much complaint with little suffering-in some countries there is much suffering with little complaint. (Anon) - 11/12/08 10:11 AM
Why do people complain so much? Is it because they have nothing better to do? Does it make them feel better about themselves to prey on other's habits? Don't you just have to step back, take a breath, and  ask yourself "Does anything that person is complaining about have any relevance to what happens in my life?" Most of the time it is a tremendous waste of time and usually brings hard feelings. You wonder what they say about you. Stay clear of these types of conversations, and remember, you have so much to be thankful for in this great country.Compliment … (1 comments)

Many of our fears are tissue paper thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them. (Brendan Francis) - 11/11/08 11:00 AM
I relate this to customer call backs. I think our minds can be our own worst enemy. Why would anyone want to talk to me? My mind will make up all kinds of excuses on why not to make the call, but is really just based on the fear of failure. When I was a kid playing baseball I remember putting on my baseball glove for the first time but didn't know how to catch the ball. The coach hit a pop fly to me. I missed and took it on the side of the face. (No Comment) I learned quickly that the … (0 comments)

I long to accomplish a great and noble task, but it is my chief duty to accomplish small tasks as if they were great and noble. (Helen Keller) - 11/10/08 10:59 AM
A sculptor produces a master piece, not with one blow of his hammer, but by placing his chisel in the right place and then gently tapping it to make the perfect mark in the stone. Well positioned tasks can also create a master piece, one objective at a time. Treat each one as if it was the most important, no matter how small, and you will accomplish something great and noble.

"Talent hits a target no one else can hit; Genius his a target no one else can see." - 11/07/08 10:47 AM
Henry Ford and Benjamin Franklin were both considered geniuses. What did they listen to the most? Their imagination! Only when you learn to listen to your imagination can you find the things no one else can see. I'm reading a book right now that talks about making mental maps of what your thoughts are, and using them to help you achieve the impossible. When you build mental maps, you can change them anyway you want in your mind until you have the outcome you desire. Great imaginations equate to ingenious solutions.

"It isn't important to come out on top; what matters is to be the one who comes out alive." (Bertolt Brecht) - 11/06/08 01:38 PM
When I was working for a Food Broker, it would seem that every year, whomever won broker of the year, for a particular manufacturer, would be fired the following year for the things they had done to become number one(If you know what I mean). The businesses who keeps their standards up are usually the ones that will survive.

"Men take only their needs into consideration, never their abilities." (Napoleon Bonaparte) - 11/04/08 10:30 AM
Napoleon is suggesting we are short sighted. Oh yes, and the age old question comes to mind that we ask ourselves. "what are my abilities?" I have listened to thousands of hours of tapes and read countless books looking for the answer. After all this research, I have come to the conclusion that it all boils down to what makes you happy when you complete it. That is your talent. What makes you happy?
