Today is a landmark day for the community of Canyon Lake with the opening of Canyon Lake High School on the corner of FM 3424 and Ranch Road 32 and Startzville Elementary school on FM 3159 in Startzville.  These 2 schools are perhaps the best indicator yet that Canyon Lake is morphing from a sleepy little resort into a year round community with an ever greater number of permanent residents.  Next year at this time, we'll be celebrating the opening of the new Mountain Valley Middle School in Sattler.

Canyon Lake HS Update - 08/16/07 11:00 AM
Canyon Lake High School in Fischer Texas is just over a week away from opening.  I've noticed the sports teams practicing as I drive by the school on a daily basis, and teachers have been busy setting up their offices and classrooms as well.  All that remains is for students to arrive, and the magic date is August 27. 
Please join me in welcoming the staff, teachers and students of Canyon Lake High School to the north side of the lake.  It's great to have such quality neighbors!

Summer at Canyon Lake - 08/14/07 08:11 AM
Summer has finally arrived at Canyon Lake, a full month behind schedule. The days are hot and the lake level is close to normal for the first time in two months.  The Corp of Engineers should reduce river flow to a level acceptable for tubing by this weekend. 
If you haven't been up to the lake yet this year, now is a great time to visit.  Find out what makes this area such a fun place to be.  Tube the rivers or enjoy the lake.  Shop in Wimberley or just people watch.  Come on up!
