End of July Nostalgia - 07/31/11 09:18 PM
End of July Nostalgia, this time every year Brenda and I get very nostalgic!
The last week of July is the Annual Experimental Aircraft Association Convention. It’s over today for 2011, we weren’t there, actually we haven’t been there since 1984. 8>(

I went to my first EAA convention in 1970. Truth is I went to Rockford where they had held all the conventions I’d heard about, but they had moved! It seem the town Fathers had not renewed their contract with the EAA. The merchants were so mad no one would tell me where they went. I went to … (6 comments)

Some Thing Specific To Think About - 07/25/11 10:41 AM
Some Thing Specific To Think About! Yesterday I wrote Some Thing To Think About, about owing our clients not only our industry, but our judgment, and we betray them if we sacrifice it to their opinion. Our professional judgement!
I wrote: Some thing to think about! "A representative owes the People not only his industry, but his judgment, and he betrays them if he sacrifices it to their opinion." A quote from Edmund Burke, a member of the British Parliament. (1729 / 1797)Better yet: "We owe our clients not only our industry, but our judgment, and we betray them if we sacrifice … (10 comments)

Some Thing To Think About - 07/24/11 10:29 AM
Some Thing To Think About
Some thing to think about, from the movie 1776. John Adams ask: "Is anybody there? Does anybody care? Does anybody see what I see?"
Dr. Lyman Hall responded: "Yes, Mr. Adams. I do."
Adams says: "I didn’t known anyone was here"
Dr. Hall "I'm sorry if I startled you. I couldn't sleep. I’m trying to resolve my dilemma. I remembered something I'd once read, "that a representative owes the People not only his industry, but his judgment, and he betrays them if he sacrifices it to their opinion."
Some thing to think about! "A representative owes … (10 comments)

When Was The Last Time - 07/23/11 04:50 PM
When Was The Last Time?
When was the last time your client trusted you?
When was the last time you used a contract that fit on one piece of paper, smaller than a role of wallpaper (8.5 X 14)?
When was the last time you went way out of your way to help a client?
When was the last time you included something strange to make a sale?
What was the strangest thing I ever included to make a sale?
Years ago my late friend, Hubert Williams and I sold a used $15,000.00 sail boat for $400,000.00, but we threw in … (10 comments)

Where Does Your Business Come From? - 07/22/11 04:37 PM
Where Does Your Business Come From?
Where does your business come from? Do you solicit clients or referral sources? If you’re in the real estate business the answer is both! But, where does the majority come from?

Now we have to separate the different careers. Stagers solicit REALTORS®! Title agents solicit REALTORS®! Title agents solicit Loan Originators when rates promote refinancing. Loan Originators solicit referral sources, mostly REALTORS®, secondly consumers, and then the other referral sources that advise consumers. REALTORS® solicit consumers, directly and by referral!

Why the difference? REALTORS®/Agents solicit consumers directly and by referral because every one … (10 comments)

Symbiotic Survival - 07/19/11 06:16 PM
Symbiotic Survival! Symbioses is necessary for home owners, real estate agents and banks to survive! The oh so necessary symbiotic Ménage à trois for both pleasure and survival.
Not the polymorphic ideal relationship where mutual orgasm is assured, but a love hate relationship more like battling siblings!
Few people can buy a home when they need one with out a bank to fund them and very few of them can get along with out a dominate Real Estate Agent to guide the transaction. But, jealously or sibling like rivalry has them at each others throats!
There is no doubt someone passed … (6 comments)

Are You Suicidal? - 07/18/11 12:08 PM
Are you suicidal or just tired of real estate?
Are you suicidal or you just don't believe in home ownership, the American Dream?
Are you suicidal or just plain ignorant?
Are you suicidal or just plain stupid?
Are you suicidal or do you just hate other people?
Are you suicidal or do you have your home and don't think others deserve a chance to get one of their own?
Are you suicidal or do you seek to in slave the populous?
Are you suicidal or just don't understand real estate?
Are you suicidal or a politician?
I was going to revise … (6 comments)

What’s On Your Desk - 07/13/11 11:31 AM
What's On Your Desk right there next to your blogging machine?

My built-in dictionary is just to limited, the on-line one to clumsy.

When you know just the right word, but can't spell it*, look up a synonym!  When you don't know just the right word look up a synonym!
* "I" "T"

It's a sad sad sad world we've created when English isn't enough in an English speaking country!

Some times it's necessary to say it right as apposed to being yourself.

Borrowed power!  Reinforce yourself by association! I'm more likely to do a Google search, … (9 comments)

The Arrogant And Competent Sound The Same To The Complacent - 07/12/11 04:04 PM
The arrogant and competent sound the same to the complacent! The choice is yours every time you speak or write. Are you arrogant and braggadocios? Or do you speak from the competence fostered by the knowledge of education and experience? Have you done all you say, can you repeat it?
Remember, the arrogant and competent sound the same to the complacent! The complacent assume the worst, it's easer for them than analyzing and learning.
The masses often see you as braggadocios as many are. They also see your statements as a personal affront. They see your accomplishments as an insult if they … (6 comments)

Harsh Realty For Real Estate Agents - 07/07/11 12:50 PM
The Harsh Realty For Real Estate Agents is that to be average is to be a failure! There is a blog circulating and recirculating pointing out real estate agents income "averages" what a depressing waste of band with!
The Harsh Realty For Real Estate Agents is that nothing in real estate is average and no one is average! Even a median agent is a failure.
The Harsh Realty For Real Estate Agents is that it is and has always been a few agents make almost all the sales!
The Harsh Realty For Real Estate Agents is that for most real estate … (10 comments)

Forgotten Patriotism - 07/04/11 10:24 AM
Forgotten Patriotism, I hadn't seen this since grade school hadn't heard it since I was a Marine myself.
I worry that our teachers our PC (probably communist) teachers of selective revisionists history have deleted it like logic and patriotism.
This was brought to my attention by an old friend from Active Rain Ron Withers. Since his retirement Ron has been actively keeping us up to date on Face Book.
Thanks Ron and may God bless the Marine in the video!

I Believe - 07/04/11 12:24 AM

I believein the following old document.
I believe in it and the Constitution it spawned!
I believe in the American Dream!
I believe in Life!
I believe in Liberty!
I believe in the pursuit of Happiness!
I believe Life and Liberty are mandatory to pursue Happiness!
I believe to avoid accusations of sedition that it's necessary to point out that when the document refers to "He" they mean the late King George. Any and all similarities to current tyrants is coincidental and disgraceful to the tyrants.

That's my position and I'm sticking to it!
Now please don't leave this post with out pressing the "recommend" button. Please if you have something to say leave a comment.

Are You Seen In Red - 07/01/11 11:25 AM
Are You Seen In Red?
We all see red from time to time, but it passes quickly. On the other hand are you seen in red? Do you make outrageous ill-conceived, irrational comments? Comments that cause others to see red!
Such is often the case here on AR! Faced with facts or ideas that challenge your comfort zone that you commit to inter-space that witch should have been no more than a unexpressed expletive! You may have little regard for consumers, but do you really want this permanently on display? Are you to be seen in red in perpetuity?
You are … (10 comments)
