No – what I’ve found to be true is the reverse (as it may be for many of the surrounding towns): some people may work in Waterbury, but live in Prospect, or have jobs outside of the area. Now, since that reason has been eliminated - the whole necessity of living where you work - what might induce a Waterbury resident to move to Prospect???

Maybe you’ve just started working in the area, or perhaps you’ve been a constant presence on your job for the past 10, 15, maybe even 20 years or longer. Depending on where you currently live in Waterbury, a move to Watertown/Oakville just might make sense because

Yes, I know that I am an agent who lives in Waterbury. I love my city, I really do. That doesn't make me a fool, however. I know that if I had the right reasons to move out of town, that I would gladly do so. Of course, I would have some small regrets, but ultimately it would be in my best interests to do so.
Which brings me to an oft-heard gripe about why some people will not buy property in Waterbury: the taxes are too high. A legitimate point, to be sure, but not ncessarily the only reason why … (0 comments)
