No – what I’ve found to be true is the reverse (as it may be for many of the surrounding towns): some people may work in Waterbury, but live in Prospect, or have jobs outside of the area. Now, since that reason has been eliminated - the whole necessity of living where you work - what might induce a Waterbury resident to move to Prospect???

Well, you live in Waterbury, pay taxes in Waterbury, and you work in….Watertown, or perhaps even in the Oakville area. Maybe you’ve just started working in the area, or perhaps you’ve been a constant presence on your job for the past 10, 15, maybe even 20 years or longer. Depending on where you currently live in Waterbury, a move to Watertown/Oakville just might make sense because

Yes, I know that I am an agent who lives in Waterbury. I love my city, I really do. That doesn't make me a fool, however. I know that if I had the right reasons to move out of town, that I would gladly do so. Of course, I would have some small regrets, but ultimately it would be in my best interests to do so. Which brings me to an oft-heard gripe about why some people will not buy property in Waterbury: the taxes are too high. A legitimate point, to be sure, but not ncessarily the only reason why … (0 comments)
