Difficult vs. Easy Closings--I think I finally had a textbook transaction - 10/31/07 08:58 PM
Well, I had the EASIEST, SMOOTHEST closing celebration today that I've had all year.  The Buyers that I had the privilege to work with have been awesome.  Looked two weeks.  Put offer on a house.  Got it tied up/under contract.  Inspections-no real problems.  They sold their home in record time, got their money last week, bought today.  Classic/textbook/easy transaction.  The easiest transaction for me this year, really.  Most of the time, some ugly little issue (or two, or twelve) raises its head somewhere during the transaction but this one was EASY.  I can't believe it.  I almost (almost) feel like I … (8 comments)

What Experiences are You having in this Market? - 10/24/07 08:21 AM
I had an interesting conversation with a lady from a title company yesterday.  I'm glad to say it wasn't the title company I typically use.  Actually, I'm not even referring to the conversation part of it but what came out of the mouth of the lady to whom I was speaking.  She said something about the fact that they use a wonderful transaction management system and here was my username and password, since we are in the middle of a transaction together.  Then, she said they use it, (not to make everyone's job easier to check the status of the transaction, … (1 comments)

Rather than look at all the negatives and think, "Oh, the market is just bad. Or slow.  Or down," which is what a lot of us do--me included, this year I have tried to change that thinking into something like "What can I do to increase the number of people I'm helping to buy/sell a house?"  … (11 comments)
