From 0-60 errrr, from 60-0 brrrr in 48 hours - 01/31/11 09:24 PM
From 0-60 err, from 60-0 brr in 48 hours. Wow  what a difference a couple days make, Friday and Saturday many of Denver's golf courses were very busy, today it is too cold to ski! The current temperature is 2 degrees and we are supposed to get down to -13 overnight. Now from a non-Colorado perspective you might think that is normal, au contraire, we maybe have 3-5 days a year where the temperature will drop below zero. Schools are closed across most of the region, and we will typically see 2-3 days per year where the schools are closed due … (3 comments)

I love unique marketing ideas - 01/30/11 02:30 PM
I love unique marketing ideas - I took my dog for a walk yesterday morning along the Dry Creek Canal, this is a very popular place for outdoor enthusiasts, joggers, bikers dog-walkers and nature lovers, and I came across a post along the way with a business card for "Puppy Love Salon and Day Spa" and attached to the business card was a dog treat. I thought about that as I kept on walking, and what a unique and memorable way to get their message to the public and more directly to their audience. They could have spent thousands of $$$ on … (7 comments)

Sellers- Staying in the home during a showing is like tagging along on your daughters first date! - 01/26/11 01:20 PM
Sellers- Staying in the home during a showing is like tagging along on your daughters first date! Do not do it! Talk about a buzz kill! When your home is listed and you have the urge to stay in the house because you can explain everything better than your agent please think again. Having the seller at home is much like tagging along on your daughters first date, the buyer (medical student/boyfriend to be) is very intimidated by you being there, telling all of the great assets your home (daughter) has and not getting a chance to discover them on their own, possibly … (1 comments)

Serve. Don't Sell! - 01/25/11 09:21 PM
Serve. Don't Sell! Have you ever noticed what makes a good salesperson, think back to any transaction you have had where you bought something and the transaction was not only pleasant, but you did not feel like you were even being "sold" anything. The chances are that the "salesperson" was very good at serving your needs, not being pushy and not trying to sell you on anything. Finding your real needs and really listening to what you are saying. The world is full of salespeople but very few salespeople are in sales to serve their clientele.
A server really does want what … (6 comments)

Book Review- Good To Great - 01/18/11 12:21 PM
Book Review - Good To Great- This book started out fairly slow for me, talking about a lot of the great companies of the world and how they got to be that way, I could not help but think how is this going to relate to my personal real estate business. I could not relate to these large mega-corporations so it was not making sense and I really thought I was wasting my time reading the book, That is until I hit the chapter on The Hedgehog Concept , I took a class the last 1/4 of 2010 that was about doubling your income and learning … (0 comments)

This weeks Book Review- Social Media is a Cocktail Party - Why You Already Know the Rules of Social Media Marketing- The title to this book really grabbed my attention, with all the buzz around Social Media marketing I felt this was a must read. The book had plenty of good content and some great tips, however most of the book was geared toward larger companies and the do's and don'ts of utilizing social media to makret their companies and products. The down side to this book is that it is already 2 years old and the social media machine has … (5 comments)

South Suburban Golf Course and homes for sale For the past several years I have been a contributing writer to Colorado Golfmagazine, this gives me a chance to indulge myself in two of my passions, golf and real estate.
