Wordless Wednesday-Looks Like a Peacock - 12/30/09 06:20 PM

Looks like a peacock. A little rain really spruces up the vegetation. Mountain cedar is starting to hit those with allergies pretty hard around here.

As The Decorations Come Down, Update the Photos on Active Listings - 12/30/09 06:06 PM
Whether you are doing a For Sale By Owner (FSBO) or on a MLS, pictures of your active listings should be current. So remember, if you added holiday decor photos for your listings on websites, rotate them out during the next couple of weeks. When it's late January or later and the Santa Claus figures and other assorted holiday trappings are still in your photos, it is time for a change.
Same thing with the deep green grass of spring that some areas have in March and April. If you have green grass now, keep the pictures up. But I'm seeing … (2 comments)

Lessons From Criminals - 12/29/09 04:03 PM
From time-to-time I get a list in my e-mail that is part humor and part truth. The following list its that description. The information is attributed to a professor at the Univesity of Missouri-St. Louis.

I did not verify that the professor and the consultant mentioned actually wrote this, but enough of it sounds true that I thought I'd share.

Underdog-Does Everyone Want the Underdog to Win? - 12/20/09 09:03 PM
"There's no need to fear, Underdog is here." I remember that tag line from the Underdog cartoon show.

It's often said, Americans have a spot for the underdog.  Well, that's probably true, sometimes.
I remember thinking when I first became a Realtor, "Will anyone let me help them with their real estate needs? In looking at some of the local real estate publications, some Brokers and Realtors had page after page of listings. How could a new guy, an underdog so to speak, hope to be successful against such competitive forces?
That was one of the questions I asked myself throughout the course work preparing for the … (26 comments)

Speechless Sunday-Deer in North Bexar County - 12/13/09 12:42 PM

This shot was taken yesterday in northern Bexar County. I was out checking a MacMillan Homes development north of Timberwood Park. Three deer (I was only able to get two in the photo) were out for a stroll.

Construction began in June 2008 and … (2 comments)

Could You Use Some Good Karma? - 12/04/09 08:37 PM
Most of us understand that a good credit score is worth money. A higher score generally means you get more favorable credit terms (lower interest rates). That's money in your pocket.
Whether you are a first time home buyer or a multiple time home buyer, your credit scores are important if you are taking a mortgage (borrowing from a lender) to buy the house.
We've heard that it's up to each of us to keep tabs on our credit file to make sure it's accurate and to challenge things that are not correct. There are places on the Internet that can … (2 comments)

The Vineyard, One of San Antonio, Texas' North Central Communities - 12/01/09 09:02 AM

November was a pretty low activity month for The Vineyard, one of San Antonio's great North Central Communities.

Three (3) homes were sold, all in The Renaissance subdivision. The Renaissance area was the last of the Vineyard areas to be developed. Builders are still constructing new homes in this area. There are a few home sites still available in Tuscany Hills and The Renaissance.

The largest subdivision in The Vineyard is Napa Forest-Sienna Woods. Seven (7) homes are available in this area. See the chart, below for November activity.
