Beware of Identity Theft!!!
We hear about this all the time, but are we prepared? Can we be prepared?
About a week ago, I received a notice of collection from Safeway Stores. I was shocked! I could not believe what I was looking at. Upon examining the letter, I noticed that the check was on an account that is not even mine! I had never even done business with that bank!
The checks were fraudulent: They were printed with my name, my neighbor's address, a correct routing number. They also had fake phone numbers for the bank, and me; the branch does not exist! … (4 comments)
