speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday NYC great for the Holidays - 11/17/13 06:36 AM

When I was working out today, I was listening to a show on Fox about cool places to travel in the United States for the Holidays. I came in at the tail end of the show; the cities that they listed were Portland, Oregon; Austin, Texas and New York City. I could also add to the list from personal experience San Antonio, Texas and Washington DC.
It made me long for New York. My husband used to have to go to NYC the 1st weekend of December every year for a meeting. It was great fun and … (10 comments)

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday Parks - 11/10/13 06:54 AM

I love to walk and photograph parks no matter what time of year. I went to a photo gallery and just stood and looked at the photo of a park for at least 15 minutes. The photo was over $3,000 dollars not sure I can justify that kind of money for a photo but the solitude spoke to me. I hope you guys are having a wonderful Sunday.

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday Doors - 11/03/13 04:31 AM

I love doors that look so inviting that you just want to go explore the inside of the house. These doors piqued my interest. It made me wonder; who lives inside? Is there inside as cute and colorful as the outside? What do they do for a living? I hope you have a wonderful Sunday no matter what you are doing.

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday the Royal Christening - 10/27/13 05:32 AM

Prince George was christened on October 23, 2013 at St. James Palace where his Grandfather Prince Charles and his wife live. I like watching the Royals, my heart broke for Prince William and Prince Harry when their “mum” was killed. I am a big Diana fan she was a great mother and a great humanitarian. She would be so proud of those boys. I like the way Prince William always keeps his mother’s memory alive and involved in his life. Here are some pictures of St. James Palace on the eve before the Christening; there usually are not … (6 comments)

There has been much to do about colors over the past few years. It seems that we are tired of colorless world. People want color in their lives in their homes. We now have appliances available in color, pots to cook in color blenders, mixers and so on and so forth. I thought I would just share some colorful photos that I have taken along the way. I hope you a wonderful Sunday and it is as colorful as you would like.

I was very excited when I heard that Tokyo had won the Bid for the 2020 Olympics yesterday. They have a wonderful infrastructure that can accommodate all those people for the games. Japan hosted the World Cup a few years ago and everything went smoothly. People who attend these Olympics in Tokyo will get to experience the wonderful Japanese Hospitality and get to see 1st hand how wonderful the Japanese people are.

When I went to Chicago last month there were two main reasons to go one I wanted to see my friend of 25 years, he and his family I would do anything in the world for. The other was to go to see the Parade of Tall Ships. This takes place in several different cities across the United States. They do not go to the same venue for 3 years. These ships are replicas from the … (20 comments)

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday Match Cup Sailing Races in Chicago - 08/25/13 07:20 AM

While in Chicago there were many things going on such as the Festival of Tall Ships which will be a later blog and the Chicago Match Cup. It was really interesting to watch the race luckily for me my friend knows a lot about sailings so I could actually figure it out. It is not easy to watch the races if you do not understand them. This is a World Match and the Chicago match is the only one taking place in the United States. Twelve teams from around the world were competing. The next stop on the … (10 comments)

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday Chicago Lighthouse - 08/18/13 01:49 AM

This Lighthouse is known as the Chicago Harbor Lighthouse and is located at the north end of the Chicago Harbor opening to Lake Michigan and at the mouth of the Chicago River just east of Navy Pier. The lighthouse was constructed for the World’s Columbian Exposition in 1893.  The lighthouse is on the National Register of Historic Places and is also known as a Chicago Landmark. I just love lighthouses and all things Nautical.

I walked Chicago’s Magnificent Mile and Navy Pier. I spent a lot of the time on the lake. I just love all things Nautical. Chicago is a great city with so many wonderful buildings and I just love the vibe. I hope you enjoy these photos. The first photo is of Wacker Drive the … (11 comments)

This is one of the most peaceful places on earth and so beautiful. We spent and loved our two days there. We would love to return for a longer period of time. There is many things to see in and around Hakone including a lovely art museum.
The only regret we had was that since it was summer we could not see Mt. Fuji. I had been lucky enough to go last March and I saw Mt. Fuji from our Hotel. I hope you are having a wonderful Sunday.

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday Traditional Japanese Wedding - 07/21/13 07:12 AM

When we were at the Meiji Shrine we totally enjoyed the serenity and tranquility that the shrine exuded. There are many religious ceremonies that take place here in the shrine. The first time I came here I was lucky enough to see a Japanese wedding it was a Sunday and many traditional Japanese weddings take place on Sunday. Bob and I were talking about how lucky I had been to see the 1st wedding. We were about to leave when I decided to sit down on benches in the shrine to plot our next stop so I would know exactly … (12 comments)

Bob and I enjoyed our trip to Japan very much, I think what we enjoyed the most were the people; we are still talking about how nice and respectful they all were. The colors of Japan were amazing; we actually went in the rainy season. We were told that the fall and spring are beautiful and alive with color. I still found color along the way and here are some photos to share with you. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday

The 4th and final is a bridge over the San Antonio River with the Bexar County Courthouse in the background. I hope you guys have a great Sunday!

speechless sunday: Speechless Sunday the Tropics - 06/23/13 01:27 AM

It has been a very hot summer so far here in Katy, Texas, it has been almost oppressive and it is only June! When it is this hot I like to think of being by the ocean and feeling the cool ocean breezes blowing along the shore to cool things down. I would love to be one of the tropical islands where the breezes are blowing cooling those lucky enough to be there. Take care and have a good Sunday.
