A New Leader at Keller Williams Realty Lancaster - 09/26/10 10:47 PM
KW Realty Lancaster is under new ownership Our brokerage was recently sold and it has made all the difference in the world. I have learned a lot about leadership over the past 20 years and the change in ownership at KW Lancaster has created many positive changes. Here are some of the changes I have observed which are signs of good leadership. A leader who is present. A leader who encourages. A leader who empowers others to act. A leader who is excited and passionate. A leader who is good to his word. A leader who teaches and shows the way. (6 comments)
The Conklins - An Amazing Family - 09/19/10 01:56 PM
An Amazing Family I had an absolutely incredible experience on Thursday, September 16. I was invited by Mike and Thelma Conklin to attend the adoption of their son. Pictured below was our source of transportation to the Franklin County courthouse in Chambersburg, PA
My story with the Conklin family begins several years ago when I was their pastor. I visited them through illnesses and hospitalizations. The Conklins have 12 children with 10 of their children being adopted. Most of these children are special needs children. Unfortunately many of these children have been affected by the drug and/or alcohol addictions of (12 comments)
Lancaster is a Place of Stability - 09/13/10 11:11 PM
Lancaster, PA - A Home of Stability A story in the Bible speaks of a house which is built on a rock with a sure foundation. This story contrasts a foundation of certainty provided by a rock with a foundation of uncertainty provided by a foundation of sand. I was reminded of the stability of the community in which I reside, Lancaster, PA today as I read an article on MSNBC. This article names Lancaster, PA as the 7th best place to be for homes which are not underwater. In other words, it is estimated that only 8% of the homes (14 comments)

I had to take this picture. Last night we filled up my wife's car with gas when returning from Collegeville, PA after watching our daughter's field hockey game at Ursinus College. Do you believe it? Well it is the honest truth. My wife had earned enought points at Giant grocery store to get $1.70 off a gallon of gas. I could hardly believe my eyes if I had not seen it for myself. (10 comments)
It was a great night for field hockey. The weather changed dramatically during the day and it was cool. You can see how the wind was blowing. Ursinus was playing Rowan University from New Jersey. It was a good game with Ursinus College winning 2-1. Winning is always more fun.
My daughter enjoyed a better game tonight. If you want to see a couple of pics of her, check out the Ursinus field hockey website. (4 comments)
I was able to enjoy the Philadelphia Phillies game on Labor Day at Citizen's Bank Park. My wife sat in the left centerfield seats. They were actually great seats. It was a good day, even though the Phillies did not play well. The whole experience and sitting next to my wife made it great.
My wife has become an even bigger Phillies fan than me. She cheers loudly every evening watching the games on television. To have the opportunity to watch the game in person was priceless. I (7 comments)
Life's Daily Disappointments - 09/04/10 07:20 PM
Dealing with the disappointments of life My daughter is beginning her senior season of field hockey at Ursinus College in Collegeville, PA. Last night was the first game of the season and with it dawned high hopes and expectations of an amazing final season of organized sports activity. My daughter enjoyed a spectacular season last year with many individual honors. The team did well, winning the Centenniel Conference and making it to national semi-finals for Division III field hockey. The sweetness of this success was dampened by losing to arch rival Messiah College in the semi-final. Nothing is more important than (14 comments)
What is right under my nose? It only smells if I notice it! - 09/04/10 06:44 PM
The Beauty of a Backyard Butterfly Bush It is amazing to me how often I miss the beauty of God's creation in my own backyard. Too often we plan for the once in a lifetime trip to a far and exotic land. We dream of capturing the wonderous sunset, hearing the steady beating of the waves to the shoreline, or simply basking in a place we picture as paradise. However, I have recently realized that below my own nose was the beauty of a Butterfly Bush. It has been drawing the attention of multitudes of butterflys. Right here in Lititz, PA I (7 comments)
