Happy St. Patrick's Day!
These have been my favorite sayings and proverbs, not knowing (way back when,) they were Irish in origin:
Proverbs:
- Necessity is the mother of invention.
- Praise the young and they will blossom.
- Who gossips with you will gossip of you.
Old Irish Sayings:
- What's good for the goose is good for the gander.
- If you lie down with dogs, you'll rise with fleas.
- Man is incomplete until he marries. After that, he is finished. (LOL)
This is not necessarily a favorite, but funny. Asked what was his favorite Irish food:
