Fannie Mae Policy Changes Will Expedite Las Vegas REO Sales - 01/29/10 07:50 PM
Let's face it, here in the Las Vegas valley (like across the nation), thousands of REO homes (real estate owned, or foreclosed properties) are building up for mortgage lenders who are swamped with work from the housing crisis we've been facing.  While the lenders are not happy about the situation, they are taking action to more efficiently get through REOs, and this is good news for the real estate market and for home buyers. 
Mortgage giant Fannie Mae, for example, is moving to sell off that inventory faster than it has in the past, which may open up some interesting opportunities … (2 comments)

Everywhere you turn, people are talking about the benefits of going green.  There are many ways to reduce your carbon footprint - from recycling and composting, to buying a home built to maximize energy efficiency, to driving a hybrid vehicle.  Here in Las Vegas, we, too, are concerned with energy efficiency and how we can improve.  While it may be a big task to make our new and existing homes more environmentally friendly, those who are in the market to purchase a home may find the job easier and more affordable than ever.

Las Vegas Home Sales Finish 2009 Strong - 01/14/10 04:33 PM
Welcome to the new year!  Here in Las Vegas, the housing market ended 2009 on a great note.  We finished with a trend of declining inventory and increasing sales, according to December statistics from the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors.
Single-family home sales in December 2009 were 36.9% higher than a year ago with 3,472 homes sold.  The inventory of homes on the market declined 11%, year-over-year, as well.  Both of these indicators suggest that 2010 will be more stable than last year in housing.
