Interest Rates Lowest since 1971? - 08/31/10 07:58 AM
I was recently looking over rates and noticed that these could be the lowest interest rates since 1971!!! Understanding that rates are this low is such a great piece to the homeownership puzzle. If you are thinking about buying in Southern Maryland, or anywhere for that matter; NOW is the time to do it!
With Interest Rates at really low levels, and house prices that have taken a dip over the last few years, I really believe it is the perfect time to buy a home. If you are looking anywhere in Southern Maryland for a home, I can help. In Fact … (0 comments)

Solving the Foreclosure Crisis - One Person At a Time! - 08/21/10 08:19 AM
This is really a great post. I wanted to share it.
Via LISA ORME, Broker/REALTOR®, ABR, CRS, GRI, PSCS, SFR, Notary Public (The Master's Key Realty LLC):
Clearly the economy is in crisis.  I've listed three foreclosure homes this week, and each one of those homes had a sad story to tell.  Foreclosures do NOT happen quickly.  Each of these homes showed the evidence of long term hardship before they went to foreclosure.  Deferred maintenance was only part of the story. I am reminded that the lives of the  people were affected even more than their homes.
While the government seeks to institute … (2 comments)

Southern Maryland Foreclosures - 08/18/10 01:14 PM
With some recent experience in Southern Maryland Foreclosures, I thought I would share the experiences. Its funny that I think the foreclosures have been relatively easy considering. So far my purchasers have all been happy with their foreclosure transactions. I think that i went into these transactions as if they were haunted houses, that needed to be town down, in fact it was the opposite. My clients for example purchased a home that is about 50 thousand dollars under market... The house has granite countertops, cherry cabinets and most of the stainless steel appliances were still in the house. This home … (0 comments)

Maintain Gutters for Home Structural Integrity - 08/18/10 01:01 PM
I thought with all of the recent rainstorms, this was a good post.
Via Anne Ortiz (Maximum One Realty Greater Atlanta):
Gutters perform an essential job on every home, but due to their location are often overlooked as a maintenance item.  Build-up of debris in gutters not only causes blockage of roof runoff which can infiltrate the walls of a home, but contributes to the deterioration and sagging of the gutters themselves.
All gutters should be checked regularly and cleaned as needed.  The best time to check the function of gutters and downspouts is during a heavy rainstorm.  It is also important to … (0 comments)

We Received Your Payments On Time but are Foreclosing Anyway! - 08/13/10 07:08 AM
WOW! Can you say unbelievable!!!!
Via Larry Bettag - Cherry Creek Mortgage:
I'm really seeing something wierd going on here:
Mortgage Compaines blowing up.  Mortgage companies thriving.  Clients are making the shift.  Big box lenders are so big that they're collapsing on top of their own clients.
I'm dealing with a top three lender rignt now...
As an Attorney!
I've been contacted by the client.  The lender had been accepting the mortgage payments, cashing them in and, oh yes.....reporting to the credit bureaus that they hadn't made a payment for nine months and therefore the big box lender began the foreclosure process.
I've … (2 comments)

Grandma's House... - 08/07/10 08:51 AM
This is truly a great article, I just came across it and LOVED it! The story really brought back memories for me and I just had to share it.
Via René Fabre (The Talon Group):
Grandma’s House…
We moved from the Renton Highlands to the Earlington neighborhood in 1958. Grandma and Grandpa moved that same year. Grandma just couldn’t bear to leave the neighborhood where she was surrounded by relatives and friends of so many years. Grandpa acquiesced, and they moved across the street. The high school was expanding their campus and building a tennis court. George and Pauline had to go.

Ready, Willing ...BUT are You ABLE? - 08/05/10 09:19 AM
Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.
Via Steve Combs (First County Mortgage):
You've made the decision "I'm Ready to Buy a Home" and so if you're willing to start the process, you're either a) waiting patiently for your rental lease to end and going to start looking at homes a few months beforehand OR b) you're trying to determine the best way to sell your home the quickest and with the highest net profit.  Of course, if you're in the later group, you should contact … (0 comments)
