16 Comments on RIVERSIDE TEXAS FIRE DEPARTMENT...MY HEROES!
Deb,
So nice to hear Desi is safe and with you. Also nice to hear that chivalry is NOT dead. You are a dedicated blogger:-)
Oh, goodness...they'd be my heroes too! Sopping but safe kitty :)
You probably made their day and didnt even know it. I'd take some homemade cookies to those guys for sure. Cute story and glad it all worked out for the best.
Glad to hear we still have heroes in our world. Happy that Desi is safe as well as the firefighters. I agree with Martha I would be bringing them some cookies my wife made, she would make me do it too. Nice post!
I love it! This one caught my eye because as a volunteer firefighter and chief of our department, we were paged out just a couple of days ago for the infamous "cat in the tree" call. Luckily when we got there, the kitten was sitting on the ground with a puzzled look on it's face, wondering what all the fuss was about. I can say that to the public, we presented a professional appearance, but behind the scenes, my nextel was going crazy with calls from other departments and firefighters laughingly offering all kinds of wonderful advice. But just like our profession, it is all about customer service.
Deb,
You and kitty were certainly wet by the time of the rescue, but these heroes certainly gave us all the warm fuzzy feeling inside. Glad your kitty is well....
I am glad that your cat is safe, but I have not heard of the fire department coming out for a 'cat' rescue in quite some time.
Nice story. I'm glad they were so helpful and didn't laugh. I have to admit they way you wrote some of this story made me chuckle. Not about the situation but the presentation. You write well.
The old put the cat in the tree to get the buff firemen to come out for the visit, eh? I've heard about you women with this old trick up your sleeve. Seriously, I didn't know they still did that. Cool Deb.
Deb, That would scare me to death if my cat was up in a tree and couldn't get down. I have to wonder if my fire department would rescue the animal...I'm hoping they would. I'm so glad you have true heros, it's so nice to know people really do care.
Deb - That is simply awesome. It's good to know that you live in a community where people really care about others. Gary's comment made me laugh out loud!
Deb - I am glad to hear that Desi is home safe and sound! What a rascal!
i once had a cat that got stuck up in ma tree for 4 days..........finally my son got some pegs and rope and climbed up and got him.......no road access never thoughtabt calling the fire dept.......hmmm...........i'm gladyou got desi out!
Deb - LMAO ! It was funny when you told me the story on the phone but actually seeing the pictures and reading it was hysterical. Poor kitty ~ If our cats were together...oh my
Please do not forget these guys are all volunteers! So just remember to help support them now and then:)
Very cool story of humanity. Glad your cat was rescued and you got the opportunity to brag about your local fire department. Thanks for sharing it.
