Wind developer will make Roscoe its home

(Infrastructure & Transportation : Abilene) 3/21/2009

(Roscoe, Nolan County) - E. ON Climate and Renewables was recently granted access to a City of Roscoe right-of-way that will allow the wind developer to add a structure to its property along Broadway Street. E. ON is constructing the final two phases of a wind farm in the Roscoe area that will make it the largest in the world with 785.1 megawatts of production capacity. That is enough to power 265,000 homes.

The company hopes to finish it in July 2009. The new structure will serve as storage for large transformers and other parts needed all over the state and perhaps other states.

According to local E. ON manager Donnie Brennan, Roscoe will be the location of the company's regional headquarters for West Texas. The Roscoe office employs 18 people.Material herein is published according to the fair-use doctrine of U.S. copyright laws related to non-profit, educational institutions.
