Cancun is Still Safe

With all the news lately about what's been going on in Cancun, Mexico, many Americans are no longer doing any trip planning to that area.  Yes, there's been plenty of crime within the City of Cancun, but no in the tourists sections.  The Mexican police have increased the number of police in the area and are constantly patroling the areas.

But, the city itself is a different story.  If you were hoping to see those historic buildings or were planning to walk through heart of town, you might want to skip that this trip.  Crime is rampant in these areas, and many people have been kidnapped or killed.

The glitzy tourist hotels, affordable vacation rentals and boardwalks, however, are very safe.  The spring breakers can play in the sand and frolick in the waters without their parents needing to worry.  So, if you are planning a trip to Cancun, stick to the glitz and glamour and stay away from the inner city.
