WOW I won the GOLDEN TICKET...This came as a shock to me. I thought it was a joke when everybody was commenting on my blog. I am fairly new to ActiveRain and had no idea that the website was so close to such a huge milestone. Congrats to ActiveRain and thanks for all the resources that the site opens to all of us.

As I was explaining ActiveRain to a group of agents in our office, I opened my page to show them my most recent blog posting...and BAM....comments from everybody on having the 1,000,000th post. Social media and social networks are definitely leading the way for future real estate success. Please contact me and help me to get better at using this site.

I have been in real estate for a little over 2 years and really do love Charlotte, NC. I moved here after graduating from the University of Virginia and jumped straight into a full-time career in real estate. (What a slap in the face the first 6 months were). I finally got my feet planted and I am now trying to learn as much about perfecting my website and learning how to get my business to grow through this social network. Any tips that you can share with me would be appreciated.

I understand that ActiveRain has been a very successful tool for many of you. Many of you have 10 to 40 times as many points as I do (even after my 10K point bonus). I want to hear from you and hear your success stories.

Again, thanks to ActiveRain for the gifts I won for being the lucky one. It wasn't the $1,000,000 that many of you commented about but hopefully the tools this site provides me will help me to earn my first million.

Congratulations!!! How did you do it? I checked out your website and have a couple of comments. (I'm in the process of having my website rebuilt, so I'm very "tuned in" right now.) You have a great photo, nice color and good layout. The negatives -- your print is too small (I could barely read it), and you might have too much text. What I'm learning is that with soooooo much information out there, no one is going to take the time to read all that great information. Just give them enough to whet their appetite so they'll email or call you for more info. But overall, very nice job! Again, congrats on having post number 1,000,000!

Congratulations. But, the best way to Rain...is to read a lot, comment a lot and practice what the "elders" teach....sort of like real estate in general. Find your mentor(s). and run to the top of the mountain!!!!

I've recovered from the shock of one million AR posts. ActiveRain can help you build your business, in a variety of ways. I've read many success stories. Here's my advice.

Think long term. Don't expect immediate results.
Be consistent. Block out at least 20 minutes - 5 or 6 times per week.
Join some groups. There are thousands to choose from!
Post information about your market. Show that you're the local expert.
Post your listings. The Google juice here is amazing!
Read. Read. Read. The information here is excellent.
Comment on other blogs. Start building relationships.
When you find a blog you really enjoy, subscribe to it.

Hey Jeff, business is steady for me but I was not in Charlotte during the glory days ('01-'06) so I cannot compare it to when business was booming. I jumped into this business at a tough time but have learned a lot along the way. I hope this is not the wrong coast. The Atlantic is a 3 hour drive from Charlotte but I haven't had the privilege of seeing it in about a year. Any coast would be great at this point!
