JAZZ.FM91 is my musical companion as I work.

Being the good companion it is, it energizes me and helps me clear my to-do list...and seldom interferes with what I am doing.

Member supported, Toronto-based JAZZ.FM91 is unlike any other radio station I know.

It receives about half of its operating revenue from members contributions. The remainder of its funding comes from commercial advertising...limited to 4 minutes per hour..and special fund-raising events and activities.

Broadcasting 24 hours each day...in both traditional radio format and online the station serves the worldwide and local jazz communities.

Businessweek.com calls it “One of the best jazz radio stations in the world”...it enjoys the second highest listening audience of all jazz stations in North America.

For the past few weeks, my musical companion has been running a message that I've wanted to include in my blog.

With one minor modification (I combined 2 versions of the message into 1) here it is:

"Hi I’m Ross Porter. I’m the President and CEO of JAZZ.FM91.

"With the dawn of each day, new opportunities arise.

"Some of the top Fortune 500 companies were created in a time just like this.

"When the pressure was great, the ideas that emerged were greater. They looked beyond the challenges of the time and focused on the future.

"They saw potential. With every predicament comes opportunity.

"Interest rates are now the lowest they’ve been in years, housing prices have dropped and the opportunity to invest has never been more affordable.

"Financial opportunities are everywhere.

"Now, there’s something to smile about. When you keep your head up and your eyes open, moments won’t slip away. Today could be the best day yet."

Many thanks Ross...more great community support.
