Let's face it, things are tough all over and everyone these days are concerned about the economy and the cost of living. So when a buyer sets out to buy a home the last thing they need to see is RED!! So what's the solution? PAINT OF COURSE!

When selling your home it is not only important that it is staged correctly but I always advise my clients that the BONES OF THE HOUSE need to show well. So what does that mean?

1. Are your walls a neutral color?

2. Are your carpets and or floors in good condition?

3. Are the stains on the ceiling painted?

These are the things that buyers DO NOT WANT TO DEAL WITH! When a buyer sees a home that needs work they start calculating the costs in their head (which are always higher than actual costs) and immediately deduct that from their offer. In this tough economy a buyer wants to purchase a home that needs as little work as possible so it is important that these things are addressed BEFORE YOU PUT YOUR HOME ON THE MARKET!

Before the walls were RED, the banister was yellow and the sliding doors kept buyers wondering where to place their furniture.

Once painted and then Staged by the Team of ReStyled to Sell, you now have a calm, neutral setting that is sure to welcome home buyers!

The difference is dramatic and will ultimately result in a quicker sale!

Phyllis,

Very nice!  The room looks great - open and airy!!  That red had to go.

Awesome, Phyllis.  The change in color alone made a huge difference.  However, your staging makes it incredible.

Congratulations.  Your post is being featured in the group Staging Before & After Pictures.

Thanks Ladies...it is good to see all, I feel like I have not been on AR forever. Things are REALLY busy here in NJ, how are things in your neck of the woods?

The color is my standard color for staging BLONDEWOOD 1067 Benjamin Moore. I find it goes with EVERYTHING. Yes I use other colors, but this is my go to color. The chairs are the Lanai chairs and I rent them. I carried this bamboo/green color texture throughout the house.

I ONLY WISH THE SELLER did this sooner because the rest of the house was really showing poorly. The kitchen was blue, the bathroom was lime green, the bedroom was bright yellow, and the MBR bath was like a hot pink..YIKES! The house looked so much bigger today it was incredible. Don't you wish they would listen to us sooner?

Talk with you all soon, Phyllis

Thank goodness the seller listened to you! I can't believe how many red, navy and deep terra cotta walls there are out there.

Great job!

Take out the red, and you have a wonderful transformation. Colour has such a huge impact on the perceived space and creating a mood within a room.

Great paint job, I'd hate to see what that gray fireplace looked like next to that red. (& I noticed the railing cap got a touch of white as well =)
