Katy Real Estate News - Wow Chesterfield Tax Rates Drop

I just found out some great news.  I just noticed that the property tax rate in Chesterfield has dropped dramatically.  The tax rate not so long ago was 3.18%.  That tax rate was near the low end of tax rates for Katy. 

The new tax rate is 2.62%.  This is fantastic news.

If your current homes assessed value were $300,000 your property taxes under the old rate would have been about $9500 (without homestead).  Under the new tax rate you will owe about $7900. 

According to Chip Norris, the Chesterfield HOA president (and always a great source of information), the reduction is due to a decrease in MUD taxes and maintenance fees. 

So if you see a member of your HOA board, take time to thank them for the great work.
